Who we are...
KASFAA is a nonprofit association of post-secondary institutions and agencies who are interested in promoting the effective administration of student financial aid in the State of Kansas. The Association has sought to ensure access to post-secondary education for the many students of this state through a variety of efforts in professional development, information dissemination, legislative and regulatory analysis. KASFAA believes that competent and well informed agencies and institutional financial aid administrators are vitally important if students are to receive the financial assistance to which they are entitled as they pursue post-secondary education.
We invite you to visit this website often for the latest information from KASFAA and the world of financial aid.

Dear Black Excel Student and Parent Supporters This is a quick gateway (below) that you should consider immediately to resource help. Each state has aid sources
you should inquire about. No question about that! These
aid sources cover a wide range of programs, sometimes
including resident and fee reductions, "incentive awards,"
grants, scholarships, loans and more. High school guidance
counselors should be keeping you abreast in regard to what's
available. Often, however, this has not been the case. This
is a BLACK EXCEL tip. Call or write the appropriate state
agencies for information packages and assistance. Getting
your state "info and financial aid" packages could mean
savings to you and your child/students. -Isaac Black, Black Excel S T A T E A I D S O U R C E S ALABAMA Alabama Commission on Higher Education Suite 205 3465 Norman Bridge Road Montgomery, Alabama 36105-2310 State Department of Education Gordon Persons Office Building 50 North Ripley Street Montgomery, Alabama 36130-3901

What is the LEPC? The Mid-America Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC) brings private industry together with public emergency response agencies in the five Missouri counties of the Kansas City metropolitan region. The purpose of the LEPC is to help reduce the community’s risks from accidents involving hazardous chemicals. Chemicals are used by public and private facilities throughout our metropolitan area. These chemicals are used to provide essential services, like clean water, and to manufacture goods at area industries. Chemicals such as gasoline are transported daily along the area’s highway and rail systems. Although companies that handle or transport these chemicals in the Kansas City area have excellent safety records, we need to plan for, and be capable of responding to, accidental releases of these chemicals. The state of Missouri requires each county to form a local emergency planning committee to carry out the requirements of the federal law. Cass, Clay, Jackson, and Ray counties and the city of Kansas City, Missouri, formed a multi-county LEPC in 1987 with administrative support provided by MARC. Platte County joined the Mid-America LEPC in 1996.

They have made substantial contributions to knowledge production and exchange of ideas in the field of educational leadership and the varied organizations served by educational leaders and administrators. Through this web page we invite anyone who may have an interest in the work of these centers to please contact the center director(s) for information. UCEA Center for the Study of Patterns of Professional Preparation in Administration The UCEA Program Center for Patterns of Professional Preparation in Administration has the following primary purposes: (1) To pursue work in the area of the professional preparation of educational administrators and to complete research relating to lines of inquiry that provide insights that lead to improved practices, (2) To identify and coalesce the interests and resources of member and other institutions in the research and program activities of the center, and (3) To examine changes in the programs and practices provided by preparation programs for educational leaders and attempt to analyze the trends that produce these changes including identifiable patterns of influence.

http://www.kwo.org/
Our Story: Past, Present and Future
The Early Days, 1978 to 1991
Kansas faced two challenging water related problems in the late 1970s. First, the Governor and Legislature lacked a comprehensive plan to guide policy development as water issues were becoming more frequent and complicated. Countless, complex water issues call for Kansas water agencies to work together in a systematic way. The need for coordination spawned the Kansas Water Office and the Kansas Water Authority. Second, the laundry list of issues had spawned numerous programs, administered by several agencies that wer e not effectively coordinated. Major reorganization of water related agencies was being seriously considered. After much debate, the Kansas Water Office and Water Authority were created by the Kansas Legislature in 1981 to solve both the planning and coordination problems. Between 1981-85 a planning process was established and the first comprehensive state water plan was developed and adopted by the Kansas Legislature. This effort proved successful. Between 1985-1991 several efforts to deal with coordination were proposed. They included annual implementation plans in each river basin, common district boundaries, and area coordination teams. However, the coordination problem had not been completely resolved by 1991.

US State Government Aid The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is used to apply for most state loan, grant and scholarship programs, in addition to the federal loans and grants. When you submit the FAFSA to the US Department of Education, they forward the information on the form to the state student assistance agency. Each state has a different FAFSA submission deadline. If you submit your FAFSA by March 1, you will be in time for all state deadlines, other than Michigan. If you miss the deadline, you will be ineligible to receive state aid for the entire academic year. Procedures for applying for state prepaid tuition programs and the national guard differ from state to state. The amount of information provided on the state web sites varies from state to states. Some states provide comprehensive information about residency requirements, loan, grant, scholarship and prepaid tuition programs and other state aid programs. Others provide minimal information.
