162. Mary Is Broke: HELP THE GAL OUT!
Single mother in debt after disasters and violence is looking for help with debts. Site includes a journal, photos, personal writings and links to similar sites.
http://www.geocities.com/maryisbroke/
A fine line between tacky and overexposed, Mary lays it all bare for you. As a single mother Mary struggles to pay her bills on time, support her five year old son, and defend her sanity by living with an overly gay roommate. Mary tells it like it is, and if it's brash and contrite, then you're welcome to it. Let Mary expose you to her world, visit today...all donations are greatly appreciated since she's whoring herself online.
*Any comments regarding said gay roommate are Mary's own version of events, but most likely not only true but extremely funny. Hella Ghetto is another side project of the media mogul. An equivalent site of oddball antics, Hella Ghetto promises to provide photos of subject matter considered "ghetto." Mary headlines the photograph page on a now weekly basis, and new photos will appear every Monday. If you appear in one of the photos, chances are you are a friend of Mary's and can as such, sue her. You know her contact information, you have her address, and she expects to hear from your lawyer regarding the site shortly.
is Mary's baby. Mary has had this site going (twenty pages or so strong) since 1997. Mary prides herself on the diversity her personal website offers, which includes but is not limited to:

Full Text (Volumes 1 - 5) SUBSCRIPTIONS SUBMISSIONS LINKS The Journal of Prisoners on Prisons (JPP) is a prisoner- written, academically-oriented journal based on the tradition of the Penal Press. The purpose of the journal is "to bring the knowledge and experience of the incarcerated to bear upon more academic arguments and concerns and to inform public discourse about the current state of our carceral institutions." (Gaucher, R., Summer 1988, p. 54) This endeavour is particularly important because with few exceptions, articles on crime and punishment are written by criminologists, sociologists, journalists, and workers in the criminal justice system who often present incomplete views of the reality of imprisonment which, in turn, justify increasingly repressive and reactionary penal policies and practices. Contemporary research is helping us to understand the function of prisons in modern society; however, this research requires the insight and analysis of people for whom imprisonment is or has been the reality of their daily existence. INTRODUCTION
It is essential for us that authors write and prepare their manuscripts according to the instructions and specifications listed below. The length and effectiveness of the peer review process will largely depend upon the care used by authors in preparing their manuscripts. Therefore, contributors are strongly encouraged to read these instructions carefully before preparing a manuscript for submission, and to check the manuscript for conformance before submitting it for publication.
Our expectations regarding your paper
We consider for publication papers which:
  • contain original work,
  • are focused on core aim and scopes of a journal,
  • are written in English (if the author is convinced of high scientific value of his contribution but is unable to deliver the text in English, we urge him to consult the Managing Editor of the selected journal for further instructions),
  • are delivered in electronic format.

    The Ramblings of a FTM
A site detailing my experiences and feelings about transition

I'm a FTM transsexual in his mid-thirties who began hormone therapy on March 30, 2001, and had top surgery on April 23, 2002. I had searched the web for quite some time trying to find all the information I could to help me in my transition. I found that the personal webpages of fellow FTMs were invaluable to me. However, few pages dealt with the fears and concerns that are felt during the very beginning of one's transition. This page will record my concerns, fears, and experiences during this exciting and anxious time. This webpage documents the first two years of my transition.

I'm not cute or built to suit a fashion model's size
But when I start to tell them,
    They think I'm telling lies.
    I say,
It's in the reach of my arms,
    The span of my hips,
    The stride of my step,
    The curl of my lips.
I'm a woman Phenomenally. Phenomenal woman, That's me. I walk into a room Just as cool as you please, And to a man, The fellows stand or Fall down on their knees. Then they swarm around me, A hive of honey bees. I say, It's the fire in my eyes, And the flash of my teeth, The swing in my waist, And the joy in my feet. I'm a woman Phenomenally. Phenomenal woman, That's me. Men themselves have wondered What they see in me. They try so much But they can't touch My inner mystery. When I try to sho them, They say they still can't see. I say

OpenJournal is a completely Web-based interface (say bye-bye to FTP, manual archiving, etc.). Features include: automated file creation; automated index updating; editing of all files through a Web-based interface; entries with or without titles and time posted; automated archiving based on a weekly or monthly format. All done through ordinary text files and no additional perl modules needed to run it. As usual, it's free.
Open Journal allows you to keep an online journal and configure it largely anyway you'd like it to look. It's very simple to operate and requires no maintenance. All you need do after installation is write in it from time to time, and it takes care of the rest.
Unlike my other open source effort, POD, the Open Journal program requires no third-party, external perl libraries or support programs. The program itself is relatively small and simple. It takes about 5 minutes to install and another 5 or 10 to customize it to your liking.

Okay, okay, I wimped out on my post about Julie. Sorry. *Note about comments: ignore the error message you see, the comment is still loading. So comment away already. I promise I will fix all when I get into my new place in two weeks.* So I meet this girl who is PERFECT, but I think I was only able to meet her because I'm leaving soon. It always seems to happen that way, doesn't it? And that the crux of the story/problem with Julie. She was amazing. And she didn't (understandably) want to be with a guy who wouldn't be here. Poop on all this depressing stuff. Comments (3)
    04:11 PM
I'm sitting on the hard wooden bench in the Apple Store, checking e-mail and whatnot. I'm about a week away from moving away. And that's a good way to tell you about Julie. Or what there isn't. She's out, on her own accord, because of the upcoming departure. I can't really blame her, but it sucks anyway. I couldn't expect any more though, could I? In all honesty, I wouldn't want to start something up with such a closely looming end predestined. So what was to be HUGE in fact turned out not. It's always the things that could have been that should have been, and the things that end up being end up being things that shouldn't have been.
