Our school
The Istituto Linguistico Mediterraneo, founded in 1981, was one of the first schools of Italian in Italy and in Tuscany . Our courses are held in Pisa and Viareggio, two famous towns by the Tyrrhenian Sea, conveniently linked by rail and motorway to the most important towns such as Florence, Rome, Milan and Venice...
PISA
A university town of great historical and cultural interest, famous for its Leaning Tower and ancient sea republic, Pisa is distinguished by the youth of the population, its proximity to the sea, which can be reached by bus or bicycle, and excellent links with the whole of Italy and the world, given that the largest airport in Tuscany and a rail link of primary importance is there.
VIAREGGIO
Viareggio is considered one of the most prestigious and attractive sea-side resorts in Italy. Typical of this small, quiet town is the Liberty achitecture, which can be admired above all along the promenade, one of the most beautiful in Tuscany.

WHY CHOOSE AN ITALIAN LANGUAGE COURSE AT THE SCHOOL SPIRITO ITALIANO? Among many Italian language schools in Italy , here we are, Spirito Italiano, an other small Italian language school in Florence. By saying small, we don't intend to be negative about our self, since we think that learning Italian in a small environment is a good thing. Seeing that many big Italian language schools in Florence sometimes treats students, that have come to study abroad in Italy, more like a source of income than individuals; we thought to offer a more personalized Italian language courses to those students that come to learn Italian language and culture in Florence with a lot of expectation and love for the Italian language and culture. Certainly, we are running a business, yet we intend to do it with our heart, with out loosing the contact with students and their needs.

    Italian language
    From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.
Italian is a Romance language spoken by about 62 million people, most of whom live in Italy . Standard Italian is based on Tuscan dialects and is somewhat intermediate between the languages of Southern Italy and the Gallo-Romance languages of the North. The long-established Tuscan standard has, over the last few decades, been slightly eroded by the variety of Italian spoken in Milan, the economic capital of Italy. Italian has double (or long) consonants, like Latin (but unlike most modern Romance languages, e.g. French and Spanish ). As in most Romance languages (with the notable exception of French), stress is distinctive.
