Bush is a Bad Roll Model for Our Children

We all want our children to become the best that they can be intellectually, emotionally and spiritually. We know that children learn from observing adults around them and from authoritative figures. They learn by example.
Seeing how the President of the United States is considered by our children and some adults to be one of the most authoritative people in the country, (even if he isn’t) what he says and does has some impact on the their values.
Americans must ask themselves this question: What are the children learning from this sad episode in our countries history? The sad truth is that our children are learning from the Bush Administration and the people who support him that it’s okay to tell a lie to get something you really desire. They’re learning not to let the real truth get in the way of their desires. If you have to tell more lies to cover for the first lie so be it. The only thing that matters is that you get what you want.
President Bush himself has never admitted to being a liar, but anybody with an open mind now knows or should know that the uranium from Niger story is nothing but a lie. Some in this Administration continue to call the lie technically correct and that President Bush didn’t know at the time of his State of the Union Address that the story was based on a forgery (another lie to cover for the first lie).

    Iran's Chief Prosecutor:
    Throw Homosexuals into the Fire
    Compiled by GayToday Tehran, Iran
A chilling document that details recent troubling moves by the fundamentalist Iranian government has been forwarded to GayToday by Homan, the worldwide organization founded to protect gay men and lesbians within the borders of the Islamic Republic of Iran. It quotes Mohammad Gilani, Iran's chief prosecutor who said: " Set up a fire and throw the person who commits homosexual acts into the fire." Article 5 of the Declaration of Human Rights explains, says the document, that " Nobody may be tortured or punished in an inhumane or cruel way." In recent months, however, the world has witnessed vicious and barbaric crimes in Iran, including the mass-murder of women in Mashad and Tehran and the public floggings of youths in streets. These cruel acts have the full support of fundamentalist Iranian authorities. Hashemi Shahroodi, chief Justice of Iranian regime has announced that these attacks are taking place because of a formal command that has been issued by the Supreme Leader of Islamic Republic, Ali Khamenei. Mohammadi Gilani notes that the Supreme Leader ordered such cruelty in his Thursday night weekly meeting with the Iranian chief justice. In addition, Iranian police have added eight articles to their agenda to serve as new strategies to carry out these cruel acts against Iranian citizens. Their so-called "anti-corruption" agenda began on 2001/8/20.

THIS COPY MAY NOT BE IN ITS FINAL FORM AND MAY BE UPDATED. FREDRICKA WHITFIELD, CNN ANCHOR: There are signs the Bush administration is considering setting its sights on destabilizing Tehran's Islamic regime. Pentagon correspondent Chris Plante has been looking into the story for us all day. And Chris, what do you have for us now?
CHRIS PLANTE, CNN CORRESPONDENT: All right, Fredricka. Well, administrations for many years have been complaining about contention that the Islamic regime in Iran has been supporting terrorism. Now it looks as though the Bush administration might be interested in taking some kind of action.
    (BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)
PLANTE (voice-over): Frustrated with what they say is Iran's continued support of terrorism and efforts to acquire nuclear weapons, U.S. officials tell CNN there is discussion within the Bush administration about possibly taking steps to destabilize the Islamic regime there. U.S. intelligence intercepts collected before and after the May 12 terror attacks in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, have convinced U.S. officials that Iran is providing safe haven to al Qaeda terrorists, and those terrorists may have been behind the deadly attacks which skilled 34 and injured hundreds more.

Iran criticizes U.S. attacks, backs Afghan coalition government
TEHRAN, Iran (CNN) Iran's foreign minister sharply criticized the U.S.-led military operation in Afghanistan on Saturday but said his nation backed a "broad-based, representative government" in its troubled neighbor. Iranian Foreign Minister Kamal Kharrazi's comments followed a meeting in Tehran with his Greek counterpart, George Papandreou. Papandreou's visit to Tehran culminated his three-day tour of Central Asia, where he was the latest in a string of European diplomats trying to bolster regional support for the U.S-led coalition against terrorism.
