On Friday, June 9, Iowa CSE sponsored four issue forums. The forums educated activists about education, environmental policy, technology regulation, and scrapping the tax code. Iowa CSE then held a breakfast focusing on tort reform on Saturday, June 10 with Senator Grassley. "I want to compliment all of you who have joined this effort at the grassroots... working in conjunction with a coordinated effort like CSE makes your efforts more successful." Senator Chuck Grassley, 6/10/00 Here is a wrap-up of each event… The Future of Education: CSE’s Dr. Jerry Ellig presented information about school choice, charter schools, and school funding. The enthusiastic and interactive crowd asked Ellig dozens of questions and offered their own testimony regarding education. Gross explained why the free market works best for our environment and our economy. Iowa Farm Bureau Federation Vice President, Craig Lang, gave a convincing testimony of why the Kyoto Protocol is unnecessary and ultimately devastating to our economy and to Iowa farmers.
