Time is budgeted to enable EPs to work in partnership with LEA schools directly with pupils, or with adults on their behalf. The range of services available is described below. EPs in Bath and North East Somerset are all eligible for Chartered Educational Psychologist status with the British Psychological Society, and eligible for full membership of the Association of Educational Psychologists. These organisations operate codes of ethics and professional conduct, which are available for inspection.

Secondary Schools
Richmond Borough's eight secondary schools have a long tradition of providing a fully comprehensive education for pupils aged from 11 to 16. This is followed by a guaranteed place at Richmond upon Thames College in Twickenham. While all our schools are unique, they each have a common aim to achieve excellence in the education they provide and have agreed the "Secondary Schools' Commitment" as a indication of universally high expectations of themselves and the pupils they teach. School Uniform:  Individual French Schools
Figure 1.All the children in this French nursery school class photographed in 1899 wear smocks, both boys and girls. The styles vary slightly, but there does not appear to be any difference between the styles worn by the boys and girls. HBC is attempting to assess French schoolwear trends. We have assembled a good deal of information on different types of garments, but an accurate assessment of trends over time and conventions remains elusive. Thus HBC is assembling images of invidual schools. One a number of schools have been assesmbled it will enable us to better understand trends over time and accepted conventions. Unfortunately often little information is available on the schools pictured in many available images. HBC will do its best to assess these images. Hopefully our French consultants will be able to add additional details. There are differet ways in which these schools can be accessed.
Chronological List
Here we list the French schools chronologically. This allows you to view changing schoolwear styles over time as for many schools we have but one photograph.
School Name List
Here we list the schools by name for those images that are identified. Many of these French school images, however, are unidentified.

English School Uniform: Individual Schools
Figure 1.A common everyday uniform at an English prep school during the 1970s was tie, grey shirt, "V"-neck sweater, short trousers, kneesocks, and sandals. By the 1980s more boys were wearing long trousers. Some information is available on individual schools to illustrate school uniform trends at the various types of schools. Schools have had different uniforms over time, but there is great similarities as so many schools used the same basic styles. This is especually true of the boys' uniforms. There is much more difference over time as schools are constantly updating their uniforms. The schools archived here on HBC can be viewed by the type of school, the name of the school, and the chronological period. Old boys and girls from these and other schools are incouraged to contribute information about the uniforms they wore.
Type of School
Uniforms worn at different schools were in part a reflection of the type of school. There were significant differences at schools for different age groups as well as private and state schools. Boys at primary and secondary schools tended to wear very different uniforms. State supported religious schools often were stricer about informs than private primary schools. Differences existed between different kinds of state and private schools. Preparatory schools in particular had destinctive uniforms. There were also some differences amomg day and boarding schools. England had quite a large number of different school types. We do not have images cobering the different types of schools, but we are constantly adding new schools to our archive. We would be interested in hearing from HBC readers about their school.

National Report on the Performance of Individual Schools in the 2000 Senior Certificate Examinations
Foreword At the beginning of last year I released the National Report on the Performance of Individual Schools in the 1999 Senior Certificate Examination . This was the first time that such as report had ever been released to the public in South Africa. My purpose in doing so was to provide the public with an overview of the performance of individual schools in the Senior Certificate examination. I also stated then that the focus in 2000 would be on the underperforming schools and “…to pull these schools out of this abysmal situation”. A 5% increase in the pass rate was targeted for 2000. Today I am particularly proud to release the National Report on the Performance of Individual Schools in the 2000 Senior Certificate Examination. We have not only improved the overall pass rate by 9%, but we have broken the cycle of underperformance in many schools. The number of schools that obtained a pass rate between 0% and 20% has decreased from 940 in 1999 to 499 in 2000. Once again I would like to congratulate those students who have succeeded as well as their teachers and principals who worked very hard to provide support and a good quality education to our learners, sometimes in very difficult circumstances. I also want to extend my gratitude to the parents and provincial and national departmental officials for their support and encouragement to ensure the success of the Senior Certificate examination.
