uru Dutt is remembered in the history of Indian cinema as the brooding intense romantic who attempted to reflect the changing social situation in India in the fifties. Within his short life, he created some of India's most socially-conscious movies like Pyaasa (Thirsty, 1957), Kaagaz ke Phool (Paper Flowers, 1960) and Baazi (1951). He also introduced Waheeda Rehman in CID (1956) and propelled her to stardom through his films. B orn in Calcutta in 1925, Guru Dutt worked as a telephone operator before he embarked on his career as an actor and director in 1944. The fifties was the time when India, under Nehru's brand of state socialism, was embarking on massive industrialization. The conventional wisdom has it that rapid changes introduced by industralization were undermining 'traditional values'. What is certain is that industrialization, and the accompanying migration from rural to urban areas, was creating as it still does in India anomie, dislocation, and new social norms. In the urban enviornment, new social relations developed. It is, therefore, not surprising that a recurring theme in his films is the attraction, bound to be fatal, that develops between a middle class girl and a tough but likeable character from the lower class. His most memorable movie in this genre is probably

India. Birthplace of civilizations, cradle of religions, still home to almost a quarter of the world's people. India has dominated the world stage through most of human history, as the home of mighty empires, as a powerful trading nation, and as a wellspring of culture and civilization. India has always intrigued and fascinated the rest of the world. The "fabulous Indies". Rumours of its empires and its wealth brought traders and travelers. Alexander the Great marched across Asia to India. Arab and Jewish traders sailed here. At one time Roman soldiers were barracked here. The ancient Greeks had trading colonies. Columbus wasn't looking for America. He hoped to find a new route to India. European history dramatically favoured nations with an India connection.

Taj Mahal, Agra, India Dr. A. Zahoor and Dr. Z. Haq
Text Source: Taj Mahal, Mausoleum of Mumtaz Mahal Taj Mahal is regarded as one of the eight wonders of the world, and some Western historians have noted that its architectural beauty has never been surpassed. The Taj is the most beautiful monument built by the Mughals, the Muslim rulers of India. Taj Mahal is built entirely of white marble. Its stunning architectural beauty is beyond adequate description, particularly at dawn and sunset. The Taj seems to glow in the light of the full moon. On a foggy morning, the visitors experience the Taj as if suspended when viewed from across the Jamuna river. Taj Mahal was built by a Muslim, Emperor Shah Jahan (died 1666 C.E.) in the memory of his dear wife and queen Mumtaz Mahal at Agra, India. It is an " elegy in marble " or some say an expression of a "dream." Taj Mahal (meaning Crown Palace) is a Mausoleum that houses the grave of queen Mumtaz Mahal at the lower chamber. The grave of Shah Jahan was added to it later. The queen’s real name was Arjumand Banu . In the tradition of the Mughals, important ladies of the royal family were given another name at their marriage or at some other significant event in their lives, and that new name was commonly used by the public. Shah Jahan's real name was Shahab-ud-din, and he was known as Prince Khurram before ascending to the throne in 1628.

Based on inputs from many knowledgable people and my experiences, i believe that the reasons for failed CM projects (or CM projects failing to meet expectations), as with any other software or technology projects can be broadly classified into four areas:
1. People
2. Process
3. Organization
4. Technology
I am trying to sort out the reasons into one of these categories and will post the final document somewhere. If you have any inputs based on your experiences with failed (and successful CM projects), just hit the comments link below or send me an email

Depending on the source (Forrester, Jupiter or some other analyst), the predictions for content management growth vary from one arbitrary number to another arbitrary number. However, the fact remains that a large number of Content Management projects have failed to deliver the promises. Someone told me or i read somewhere that about 61 % of the CM projects have been failures.
I've been doing some research on why so many Content Management projects fail to deliver. Irrespective of the approach (product or inhouse developed) they chose, a lot of clients are unhappy with what they've got out there. Those who developed an in-house solution, want to migrate to a product based approach and those who have a product want to move to another product or back to an in-house solution.

Hindu and Celtic Culture Are One
Druuis Belenios Ategnatos
I am going to briefly describe some of the latest findings regarding Indo-European culture. Some of this is theoretical. Some of it is proven to exacting standards. In the interest of brevity, I shall not attribute the following information to the proper academic form. Much of the material used is yet to be published, and is cutting-edge, but should become available soon. My particular topic is the relationship between the Celtic peoples of Europe, their origin, their relationship with the Vedic culture, and a few other relevant facts and theories. In traditional histories of India like the Puranas and Brahmanas, it is pointed out that in addition to the kingdoms in northern India, there were kingdoms north of the Himalayas with the same culture as in India, which would be in the regions that we are considering for the Celtic peoples. Most important is the famous land of the Uttara Kurus, described as a spiritual paradise north of the Himalayas. Comparison of European Celtic culture with Hindu culture shows a large number of similarities between them. Some of these were shown in a two part article that appeared in the May and June issues of the magazine Hinduism Today . Therefore, we have cultural evidence to back up the traditions and the archaeology.
