This site is an online component of a 1999 exhibition that visited Atlanta, Seattle, and Denver. Its "Experience Impressionism" feature offers an animated, guided tour through the basic issues involved in the interpretation of impressionist works. The tour is annoyingly jokey at times, and the information is fairly traditional in its point of view, but it does offer a starting point for a more sophisticated approach to the subject.
