Nonimmigrants he Philippine Immigration Act of 1940 (Commonwealth Act No. 613), also known as "An Act to Control and Regulate the Immigration of Aliens Into the Philippines," was signed into law by the then President of the Philippine Commonwealth, Manuel L. Quezon, on May 26, 1940. This legislation, along with its amendments, governs the immigration of aliens into the Philippines. The Bureau of Immigration is the Philippines' lead agency in implementing the Philippine Immigration Laws. It continues to serve its constituency through an honest, efficient and transparent public service. In pursuit of its thrust, it also aims to educate the public on laws governing the immigration of foreign nationals in the country. Here are some of the excerpts of the significant sections of the Philippine Immigration Act as Amended: Nonimmigrants Nonimmigrants are foreign nationals who come into the country for temporary stay such as tourists, transients, seamen, diplomats/foreign government officials, treaty traders/investors, students, and pre-arranged employees.

Immigration law is the nation's border gatekeeper. The law determines who may enter, the duration of stay, when they must leave, whether a person is an alien, their duties and obligations in Malaysia. The main legislation governing the Malaysia immigration is the Immigration Act 1959/1963. The Immigration Act 1959/1963 governs the admission into and departure from Malaysia, entry permits, procedures on arrival in Malaysia, removal from Malaysia, offenses and special provisions for East Malaysia. There are also others immigration rules and regulations such as the Passport Act 1966 and Immigration (Exemption) Order 1963.

Led by Bishop Gerald Kicanas of the Catholic Diocese of Tucson, the group met at the state Capitol and called on government officials to: The gathering was one of the largest by clergy ever on the issue, said Kathy Saile, who runs the Phoenix Roman Catholic Diocese's Office of Peace and Justice. About 300 people, nearly half of them clergy, attended. Signing a statement calling for action and education were Catholic Bishops Kicanas and Thomas J. Olmsted of the Phoenix Diocese, Methodist Bishop William Dew, Lutheran Bishop Michael Niels, United Church of Christ conference minister Cally Rogers-Witte, Bishop-elect of the Episcopal Diocese of Arizona Kirk Smith, and Reform Rabbi Andrew Straus of Temple Emanuel in Tempe.
