Since 1993, Prevent Child Abuse Illinois has provided a variety of brochures and booklets to our prevention partners hospitals, clinics, public health departments, schools, social service agencies, and community groups. These partners, in turn, distribute this positive parenting material to people in their own communities. In the next 12 months, Prevent Child Abuse Illinois plans to double the number of prevention partners involved in this program. Together, we will distribute nearly 200,000 pieces of literature to parents, grandparents, babysitters, and others who come in contact with children.

Click here to complete the survey online in English and Spanish, or to print a copy
The Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) has created a survey for parents and guardians to complete regarding their involvement, satisfaction, and awareness of the educational process of children with disabilities. Survey data will be collected from May 6, 2004 through August 1, 2004 and every two years thereafter. Results from the survey will be used for future planning and to improve services. The ABLE Coalition:
Advocates Behind Legal Education
Check out a calendar of parent support group meetings here
DFC encourages parents of children with disabilities to take advantage of training opportunities and join a parent support group. A parent support group will provide needed emotional support and valuable feedback and information from other parents. You will also get a better idea of systemic issues and how they impact on other children with disabilities. Parent group meetings are a great place to compare strategies and share stories from the field!
