They are able to provide education, consultation and support to teachers and organizations in any discipline, profession, training program or educational level (kindergarten through infinity) either involved in PBL or interested in adopting PBL into their teaching or training programs. With its director, Howard Barrows, the PBLI represents a continuity of research, development and application of PBL from its origins as an educational method almost 30 years ago. Although located in a medical school the PBLI represents a platform for PBL interests, both inside and outside of medicine.
