XXX recently wrote: Oh!......my face "fell" though when I saw where you are............ WHY are there SO many Messianic Israel congregations in Washington State? You are so blest by YAH beyond compare up there.......but then.....I guess you know that? That is a very good question and it requires a bit of response: Since I came here from Chicago over ten years ago, I have often thought about why my attention had been drawn to the Pacific Northwest since even before I was converted. It was because of faith that I came here when the Ruach used the verses in Bereishit 12:1-3 to prompt me to go. Bereishit 12:1 Now YHWH had said unto Abram, " Get thee out of thy country , and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee This was the answer I had wanted to hear in direct response to my prayers at the time about Revelation 12:6 and now I can say unequivocally, that all the chapter 12's in the scriptures have a common theme running through them. Let me further state that the land here is quite spectacular, to say the least, so much so that it is a favorite destination for many a European and Asian traveller.

CALIFORNIA:
[Name given by the first Spanish Explorers]
The third largest and most populous state has great natural diversity ranging from deserts in the southeast to rainforest in the northwest. In between are the towering Sierra Nevada mountains which rise to over 4500 m. Not only is its annual farm output greater than that of any other state, so is its volume of construction and manufacturing.
NEVADA:
[Spanish for snow covered
The state's name is taken from the Sierra Nevada, the mountain range shared with California. Mainly desert, Nevada is a region of rugged mountains, desert valleys and sparsely populated plains. The state is largely known for its glittering casinos which draw visitors from around the world. The first European settlers of the state came for its mineral wealth while large ranches were started in the north where rainfall was sufficient for grazing.

Teacher's Guide
to Craters of the Moon Activity 2C
The Creeping Hot Spots
Students learn about the Mantle Plume Theory, plate tectonics, and Idaho geography by experimenting with a map of Idaho. Objectives:
  • Students will be able to explain the basics of the Mantle Plume Theory.
  • Students will understand that the crust slides over the mantle.
  • Students will be able to name key cities and geologic features of Idaho.
Duration:
1 to 2 hours Background:
The theory of plate tectonics explains much of Earth's geology. For example, California's famous San Andreas fault is formed where two tectonic plates come together and slide by each other. The tension that is created along the fault is periodically released, like a rubberband stretched to its breaking point, resulting in earthquakes. Other geologic phenomena require a combination of theories to be explained. For example, events creating the Snake River Plain that stretches across southern Idaho from Oregon to Wyoming cannot be described as easily as the San Andreas fault. A combination of "Rifting," "Basin and Range Faulting," "the Mantle Plume Theory," and Plate Tectonics are required to explain that big crescent. For a concise description of these theories and the likely sequence of events that made the Snake River Plain see pages 2.1 to 2.5. The student activity that follows will require that you understand the basics of these theories.

The Bluebird is about seven inches long, has an azure blue coat and a blue breast with white underfeathers. The mother bird wears a quiet blue grey dress and usually lays six or seven blue-white eggs. The Bluebird's nest is usually built in a hollow tree or crevice. The Bluebird is very neat about it's home and carries all refuse some distance from the nest. State Fish Back to the top The Cutthroat Trout was designated the state fish by the 1990 legislature. The Cutthroat, along with the Rainbow and Bull Trout, is native to Idaho. The body color varies with the back ranging from steel grey to olive green. The sides may be yellow brown with red or pink along the belly. The Cutthroat's name comes from the distinctive red to orange slash on the underside of its lower jaw.
