Revealing Humanism - Today's Philosophy vs Christ and His Word
What is Humanism? H umanism is a philosophy centring upon distinctively human interests and ideals. It is an insidious revolt against God and the inflexible principles and guidelines of His Word.
    • It denies the reality of a personal God, the inspiration of the Bible, and the deity of Christ.
    • It denies the Bible account of creation and teaches evolution.
    • It denies moral values and teaches that there are no absolutes - no right or wrong. Do your own thing "as long as it does not harm anyone else."
    • It denies the distinctive roles of male and female.
    • It believes in sexual freedom between consenting individuals regardless of age, including premarital sex, homosexuality, and incest.
    • It believes in the right to abortion.
    • It believes in the removal of national patriotism, the free enterprise system, disarmament, and the creation of a one-world socialistic government.

Maurizio Viroli In his book From Politics to Reason of State (1992), Maurizio Viroli traces how the concept of politics between the end of the sixteenth and the beginning of the seventeenth centuries underwent a major transformation. From having enjoyed the status of "the noblest human science," politics now came to be regarded as "an ignoble, depraved and sordid activity." (1992, 1). Viroli argues for a revival of the tradition of ancient republicanism and its notion of politics as the art of good government. In the first excerpt, Viroli describes Renaissance civic humanism as a an important turning point in the history of political thought.

ABSTRACT: A crucial element of Marx´s edifice is his fight for human emancipation. From the critical analysis of Hegel´s political philosophy to the Capital he considers the issue of emancipation and discovers circumstances, in which work and practice of human beings lead to alienation of social relations. The contradiction typical of capitalism becomes overstepped in the revolutionary practice of the proletariat that can fulfill its emancipatory mission breaking consciously through quasi-natural conditions of its social reproduction. Even the revolutionary movements that failed contributed to the "progress of the recognition of freedom" much more than traditional political institutions. From its beginnings of his critical analysis of Hegel to the uncompleted late work A Critique of Political Economy "Every emancipation is a

    Philosophy of Humanism
Excerpts from the introduction of the book by Corliss Lamontt
    • Humanism believes in a naturalistic metaphysics or attitude toward the universe that considers all forms of the supernatural as myth; and that regards Nature as the totality of being and as a constantly changing system of matter and energy which exists independently of any mind or consciousness. Humanism, drawing especially upon the laws and facts of science, believes that humans are an evolutionary product of the Nature of which they are part; that their minds are indivisibly conjoined with the functioning of their brains; and that as an inseparable unity of body and personality they can have no conscious survival after death. Humanism, having its ultimate faith in humanity, believes that human beings possess the power or potentiality of solving their own problems, through reliance primarily upon reason and scientific method applied with courage and vision. Humanism, in opposition to all theories of universal determinism, fatalism, or predestination, believes that human beings, while conditioned by the past, possess genuine freedom of creative choice and action, and are, within certain objective limits, the masters of their own destiny.

    The Philosophy Behind Zambia's Flag
HUMANISM is the national philosophy of Zambia. It is the basis of all the policies and programs of the Party and Government. All the development effort in Zambia is based on Humanism It is a way which emphasizes the importance of MAN as the center of all activity. Zambian Humanism provides the moral basis for all human activity in the country whether it be political, economical or social. The philosophy is the SOCIAL CEMENT that holds together and inspires the young and varied nation that is Zambia. Zambian Humanism is not like that shirt or that dress or that dress that we wear for special occasions. NO. Humanism is our dress for all occasions. It is like the skin we wear on our bodies. It is our way of life for all time. To understand what Humanism is about, we must first understand the political background against which it was declared as Zambia's national philosophy. The forces which brought the people of Zambia together to fight independence were a direct result of years of colonial oppressiona system of government which denied Zambians all rights and privileges of MAN. To change this unbearable situation the people of Zambia, then known as Northern Rhodesia, formed the United National Independence PartyZANC and later the United National Independence PartyUNIPto spearhead our fight for freedom. We wanted to be free to guide and control our own affairs in our own land.
