Every home a school?
Of course! Parents are the first, the most effective, and the
most connected teachers of their children. Learning is a natural part of family life.
Actually, there is no such thing as "home-school" any more than there is "home-eat"
or "home-sleep." Home is the default setting; leaving home is the exception. Parents
cannot escape the responsibility or the joy of teaching. Happy are the children whose parents are purposeful in this duty, who make their home a center of learning for themselves and their children. These parents may sometimes employ outside tutors

The information provided here is merely a guide to help you,
it in no way covers all the information available for every subject listed.
It is not legal advice, I am not an attorney and do not give legal advice. You should always contact your attorney or HSLDA for legal advice. Introduction Non-Profit Organizations and the 501 (3) (c) Board of Officers ByLaws ... Other Resources Introduction SC homeschoolers have some very unique and helpful homeschooling support groups. Luckily for SC homeschoolers, there are choices. What is right for you, is not necessarily right for me. Many areas will have several types of support groups and even if you belong to them all, you may still be longing and desiring something more for your children's education, something different. Well, you and your children can make it happen.

Food Lion Shoppers

Food Lion Grocery Store's "Lion Shop and Share Program" allows Food Lion MVP card users to designate a portion of their grocery bill to a local non-profit organization. The Home School Foundation is registered with the program. Each time an HSF registered MVP card is used, HSF is credited with the sale. At the end of each quarter, Food Lion sends the Shop and Share organizations a check based on the amount of their accumulated sales. If you are interested in having a percentage of your grocery bill credited to the Foundation, register your MVP card at http://www.foodlion.com/shp_lssconsumers.asp or call Food Lion at 704-633-3810-8250 (ext. 3810). All proceeds will go toward the "Members Helping Members" Fund.

For when the water was stirred, miracles happened (John 5). Today, broken and hurting families still watch for the stirring of the waters, wating for miracles in their but not so much in physical pools...

On-Line Homeschooling Support Groups
Here I'm listing only a few of my favorite sites in this ever-growing category. You are much more likely to get a fast answer to an informational question on a discussion board than by E-mailing keepers of information Web sites. You can find quite a complete list of Homeschooling Message Boards on the Web at the Finding Homeschool Support on the Internet site, which has good content that make its obnoxious Geocities advertisements worth putting up with. On the same site you can also find very detailed information about mailing lists Internet Relay Chats , and other on-line discussion opportunities for homeschoolers. Each board or mailing list has its own flavor. Visit a few and decide which one you find the most informative and helpful, and then join in and answer the questions of other participants. Sharing is what on-line discussion is all about.
