Drew County Historical Museum The Drew County Historical Museum, located on South Main Street, holds artifacts of Drew County's past and its archives offer excellent records for genealogical research. Housed in the Cavaness Home - a prime example of late 19th century architecture - the museum hosts an annual Candlelight Tour during the Christmas holiday season. Period dressed tour guides show hundreds of visitors through the two-story historic structure. The Drew County Historical Society, which operates the museum and archives, also sponsors the annual cemetary tour held in conjunction with the Rough and Ready Festival, as well as living history re-enactments and weekly tours.

    To support presentation of a new arts festival in a recently restored historic playhouse and adjacent park in order to stimulate redevelopment in Birmingham's southside. Approximately 35 arts organizations of all artistic disciplines will participate in the festival, launching what is expected to become an annual event that will encourage additional economic activity in the neighborhood boosted by the restoration of the Virginia Samford Theatre. The City of Birmingham will partner with the Highland Park Neighborhood Association to implement the project.

    To support promotion of the Tucson Cultural Arts Festival as a major tourist attraction. Project partners will plan and implement marketing efforts to expand the three-year-old Family Arts Festival into a larger and more tourist-focused event by reaching out to potential visitors from Mexico, timing promotions to lure tourists arriving at the beginning of the winter season, and creating weekend tour packages with hotels and resorts. The Metropolitan Convention and Visitor's Bureau and the US/Mexico Trade Commission will assist in the completion of this project.

    McMullen Museum of Art This critically-acclaimed exhibit presents 83 outstanding examples of Munch's prints and paintings from private collections and leading museums in the US and Norway. The exhibition takes an interdisciplinary approach to the study of the style, subject matter, and interpretations of the art of Edvard Munch in modern European culture. Special appearance by Jesuit screen writer and producer Bill Cain '70 Special appearance by film producer Rob Gardner, with preview screening of Islam: Empire of Faith Islam: Empire of Faith , to be premiered on PBS on May 8, 2001, chronicles the spectacular story of the rise of Islamic faith and civilization during its first thousand years, from the birth of the Prophet Muhammad to the peak of the Ottoman empire in the sixteenth century. Combining location footage, works of art, interviews with international scholars, and historical reenactments, it is the first American prime-time event to address the history and culture of Islam.
