Activities: If you're in the Canmore Area, here are some of your recreational opportunities:
Bicycling
Biking is popular in and around Canmore. You can ride along the wide shoulders on the Trans-Canada Highway, all the way between Calgary and Banff, though the route has some serious hills. The best route is west to east, to go with the prevailing wind and the general drop in elevation.
Around town, there are plenty of trails along the Bow River, Policeman's Creek, to the west of town around Quary Lake, the Canmore Nordic Centre, Three Sisters, and to the east of town, around the Benchlands and SilverTip. These areas have the advantage of showing generous amounts of scenery, but always being close to "home".
