The Food and Drug Administration has made the informal decision to regulate transgenic fish under its authority to review new animal drugs. Given the potential toxicity, allergenicity, and aquaculture diseases posed by the commercialization of transgenic fish, CFS is demanding that the FDA adopt a pre-market regulatory review that does not ignore these potential human health safety concerns.
Tell FDA to Rescind its Approval for Irradiated Ground Beef
FDA has overlooked substantial evidence that irradiated food may not be safe for human consumption. Based on research, CFS has told FDA that more than one-third of the studies published in peer-reviewed scientific journals that looked at the question of genetic damage caused by consuming irradiated food actually showed genetic damage in animals, humans or cell cultures.

The program has an established routine so children know what is expected of them at all times. The program staff participates in annual training with the school staff in CPR, basic first aid, and universal safety precautions.
  • Every student in the program completes a series of up-beat, lively health activities designed to improve self-esteem and prevent self-destructive behaviors (e.g., drug use, smoking, teen pregnancy, gang membership, suicide, criminal mischief, etc.).
Stage 2
  • A local food market chain provides a nutritious snack immediately after school, and the school's nutrition program provides a meal for students who participate in the extended-hours program.

  • The global burden of ill-health is borne mostly by people in developing countries. The emerging and reemerging environmentally mediated diseases that threaten humanity are most rampant. The diseases responsible for a large proportion of this ill-health are environmentally mediated. The worst pollution conditions - urban and rural, public and occupational - are in developing countries. The most rapid growth of environmental pollution is in developing countries. The populations most vulnerable to global environmental change are in developing countries.
The HED Program A unique,  interdisciplinary, campuswide program based in the School of Public Health, University of California, Berkeley Program Objectives Helping people in developing countries  achieve health, reach a reasonable level of well-being, and stabilize populations, while at the same time protecting the local, community, and global environments, are among the most  compelling and complicated challenges facing the world community. "The objective of the HED program is to bring an international group of students together to learn how to meet  this important set of challenges."
