http://www.math.columbia.edu/department/TeachingGuidelines.html
Department of Mathematics Graduate Student Teaching Guidelines Requirements Admission to the Ph.D. program in Mathematics carries with it a commitment of full financial support for five years, subject only to the condition that the student is making satisfactory progress toward the doctoral degree. This position carries a fixed stipend (the same for all students) for nine months plus tuition and fees. In fulfillment of the requirements for the M.Phil. degree, all students must gain teaching experience as part of their graduate training. The Mathematics Department believes that training in teaching is an integral part of the training of graduate students as future scientists. Moreover, a large percentage of students will look for jobs in academia. Universities now ask for proof that their prospective faculty members are effective teachers, and hence look for some teaching experience as well as teaching letters from the faculty and copies of student evaluations. Thus, all graduate students are given the opportunity to teach undergraduate courses. As part of the policy of the Graduate School of Art and Sciences, the department has created the position of Director of Graduate Student Teaching, who will usually be the Calculus Director. The following guidelines set parameters for graduate student teaching in the Mathematics Department. Teaching Responsibilities In general, students in their first year do not teach, but, in order to provide them with useful exposure to the scope of their future educational role, they typically assist in the Mathematics Help Room. All other students are required to fulfill additional teaching duties. The teaching opportunities in the department are as follows:

Most of our neonates are premature and therefore of low birth weight. This makes it too difficult to provide renal replacement therapy by haemodialysis or haemofiltration owing to problems with vascular access and coagulation. Indications Contraindications to Peritoneal Dialysis include necrotising enterocolitis or recent abdominal surgery in the neonate.

http://www.soul-guidance.com/houseofthesun/gnosticism.htm
back to House of the Sun read this text in Portugees: click here : Transcrição para o português I have studied several religions and esoteric teachings, but Gnosticism is the one that really appealed to me. Gnostics were very tolerant in their belief systems, they did not create a dominating religious institution, and they favored mystic experience. What was most appealing to me was that their belief system answered a lot of questions I had about life. So let me share with you what the Gnostics had to say. As there were many Gnostic groups around with many similar but different views, I present you here with a summary. If you want to know more you can always find literature that explains the different systems. Birth of a New Age 1945 was a turning point in our history. The end of the second World War made us reflect on what man is capable of doing to his own kind. The year 1945 had another turning point. In December of that year a discovery was made which would make man reflect upon himself. In a mountainous region near Nag Hammadi, Egypt, a farmer discovered by accident a large jug containing thirteen volumes of a book containing 52 texts. They were Coptic writings made by gnostics and hidden away approximately 1600 years ago. It was a discovery of immense value, because before 1945 we knew only about Gnosticism from the account of their persecutors, the orthodox church at that time. After 1600 years we finally could hear what the gnostics themselves had to say.

Does 1 Corinthians Chapter 15 Teach a Physical or a Spiritual Resurrection?
By David Friedman In the first three verses Paul speaks of the gospel message which he had received, and which had been received by others whom he had preached to. In verse 3 Paul says that he delivered first to the people that Christ died for their sins according to the Scriptures, and follows this by saying that Christ was buried and rose again the third day according to the Scriptures in verse 4. These verses indicate that the main teaching of the early followers was of Christ dying for the sins of mankind, and then being raised, or resurrected, on the third day. Verses 3-4 do not provide independent confirmation of a physical resurrection. As Richard Carrier states, the phrase "died...was buried...was raised" ( apeqanen...etafh...eghgertai ) can just as easily be a metaphor as an indication of a physical raising; the "concept of the resurrection itself" does not entail any more a physical than a spiritual idea (and since Christianity changed many Jewish beliefsit was, after all, new and differentwe cannot appeal to Jewish tradition in favor of the physical)." In addition, Colossians 2:12 speaks of people who were raised (resurrected) with Jesus. Those spoken of were not physically resurrected. Ephesians 2:1, 5-6 speaks of people who were resurrected from the dead, and the death was only spiritual. My belief is that these passages and others suggest that the resurrection is non-physical. More on this later.
