They were created in partial fulfillment of the requirements for a course entitled Integrating Technology Across the Curriculum . After viewing these projects, please feel free to send your questions, comments and/or suggestions to their instructors, Kimberlye Joyce, M.Ed. and Patricia Stohr-Hunt, Ph.D. WebQuests - A WebQuest is an inquiry-oriented activity in which most or all of the information used by learners is drawn from the Web. This model was developed in 1995 at San Diego State University by Bernie Dodge with Tom March . (Click on their names to learn more about the contributions they have made in developing this wonderful model for Internet learning.) The WebQuests on these pages have been developed as cooperative learning activities. Student groups may be presented with a problem to solve, a scenario, or a topic to examine in depth. Work begins with every student examining some common background material(s). Then each student in a group takes on a role and becomes an expert on his/her topic. Once students have carried out their research, they come back to their groups and teach their peers what they have learned. The group then reflects on this material and together, completes a task that includes all roles and perspectives. ART Elementary/Middle

Its most important role was as a barrier, blocking traffic to Judah from the east. An advancing army of Ammonites and Moabites apparently crossed a shallow part of the Dead Sea near En Gedi on their way to attack King Jehoshaphat (2 Chron 20). Why BiblePlaces.com?

Greece - Geography, Landscape and Climate Variety surely must be the hallmark of the Greek landscape. On the one hand, there are high mountains such as the Pindus range, also known as Greece's backbone. Mount Olympus with its summit the Pantheon, is the highest peak in Greece at an altitude of 2,917 meters. The mountains of Macedonia and Thrace are intersected here and there by a few valleys through which relatively small rivers flow. On the other hand, the endless lacework of the coastline produces a series of scenic surprises. It is these heavily indented shores which give Greece such rare beauty, quite unique in the Mediterranean.
The marked variety of the terrain above water continues under the surface of the sea. Millions of years ago, the seabed was dry land. Close to Cape Tainaron (Teraro) off the south tip of the Peloponesse, the so-called Oinoussai (Inousses) Pit is 4,850 metres deep and is the deepest point in the Mediterranean.
The Greek Peninsula is Europe's southeastern most tip and has an area of 131,944 square kilometers. It consists of mainland Greece ( Attica , the Peloponesse, Sterea Ellada, Thessaly, Epirus, Macedonia and Thrace) and the islands of the Aegean and Ionion seas. Geographically it belong to Europe since it forms the southern most extremety of the Balkan Peninsula. Greece also has a special link with Europe through the

Geography Central Greece At the heart of Greece lies the oracle of Antiquity, Delphi. Running through central Greece is the rugged Pindus mountain range, with a peak of 2.637m (Mt. Smolikas). The dramatic mountain gorges and villages of Epirus rise above the plain of Thessaly, an agricultural heartland bordered by the Byzantine-era monasteries of Meteora. North-
Eastern Greece
The port city of Thessaloniki , and the mountains and river plains of the north, have played a critical role in the history of South Eastern Europe. The Chalkidiki Peninsula is home to Mt. Athos (the Holy Mountain), a monastic state governed by the Greek Orthodox Church. Eastern Greece The plain of Attica (Attiki) was the site of Europe's first cities. Today, Attica supports nearly half the Greek population. The lush peninsula of Pelion is a land of cascading streams and beaches fringed by forests, and is topped by Mt. Pelion. The best known of eastern Greece's many mountains is

A Glance at the Geography of Ancient Greece Geography is the study of landscape, such as the mountains, the rivers, the plains, the coastline, and the placement of cities. We begin to look at the geography of ancient Greece when we examine how Greeks lived on their farms , why they traded , road systems, and the plant life that ancient Greece had. There are enormous obstacles in the way of studying the geography of ancient Greece. One obstacle is that because of the tradition of fragmented land holding; plots of land became very small and rarely have the same names through time. Because of this, archaeologists cannot identify a feature mentioned in a document and go and see what is there today. The second obstacle is that we are separated from the classical Greek landscape by a great gap in time: well over a thousand empty years with almost no relevant written record to show how the landscape was developing. Archaeological survey bridges this gap, but for geographical purposes, this information is extremely limited, in that much of the material found cannot be closely dated. Another somewhat smaller obstacle is that ancient authors rarely wrote about what Greece looked like. This is most likely because they assumed that their readers would know the landscape of Greece. There are instances of ancient authors giving small scraps of information, but these scraps must be looked at critically. Literary or
