Sentence Structure
Adjectives Sub and main clauses Emphasis Commas ... Direct speech
In general one uses the same pattern as in English: Subject - Predicate - Object
But because of case, gender and number inflections in Polish you can handle this scheme quite flexible.
In questions and imperative sentences the word order is exactly the same as it would be in English. If the sentence contains a pronoun as a subject, it usually is omitted.
So you can say "Mam kotkê." instead of "Ja mam kotkê.". (meaning "I have a cat.") Adverbs and the negation particle nie usually precede the word or phrase.
Adjectives:
Adjectives stand before the noun if they refer to an incidental feature of the noun. In case they refer to an intrinsic feature they follow the noun. Possessives, demonstratives, etc. always precede the noun.
To jest niebieska ksi±¿ka. (This is a blue book.)
To jest ksi±¿ka niebieska . (This is the blue book.)
To jest moja nsi±¿ka. (This is my book.)
Sub and main clauses: If you have a main and one (or more) subordinate clauses, the main clause is usually the 1st. In some cases the opposite is possible, esp. when the sub-clause begins with

Sentence
A sentence is the basic unit of written English language communication. We grant poets, playwrights, and fiction writers some "literary license." These authors can experiment with the language, or use the language in an unconventional manner. Expository writing is conveyance of information, often necessary or even vital information, to readers who need that information. If a reader misinterprets a sentence in a work of fiction, no harm results. A misinterpretation of nonfiction writing can cause harm. Written instructions, policies, procedures, guidelines, research reports, personal communication, and news media information need to be written so that the reader understands exactly what the writer intended. IMAGINE. Tomorrow will be a short school day. The school day will terminate at 11 am. The school administrators deliver a carelessly prepared message to the school bus drivers telling them to be at the school at 1 pm. simple sentence The basic English language sentence is called a simple sentence. It requires a subject and a verb. We ordinarily include some additonal words that explain the subject. The sentence or a part of a sentence that contains a subject and a verb and constitutes a complete thought is called an independent clause I like English.

Sentence Variety
Definition of a Sentence
Before elaborating too much on the nature of sentences or trying to define a sentence's parts, it might be wise to define a sentence itself. A sentence is a group of words containing a subject and predicate . Sometimes, the subject is "understood," as in a command: "[You] go next door and get a cup of sugar." That probably means that the shortest possible complete sentence is something like "Go!" A sentence ought to express a thought that can stand by itself, but it would be helpful to review the section on Sentence Fragments for additional information on thoughts that cannot stand by themselves and sentences known as "stylistic fragments." Editing Grammar Sentence Structure, Agreement, and Reference A CLAUSE must contain both a subject and a verb: Plants grow. I grow plants. I give you plants. I make you happy. You are grateful. The only exceptions are commands, whose subjects are not states: Pay attention. One kind of SENTENCE FRAGMENT is not a clause because it contains no complete verb. Therefore, these examples are mistakes: Especially phrases with no verb whatsoever.
To use the infinitive form of the verb, too.
The reason being the incomplete form of the verb.
Some sentences written with this form, also.
A CLAUSE may be INDEPENDENT (main) or DEPENDENT (subordinate). Dependent clauses begin with relative pronouns or subordinating conjunctions. A dependent clause by itself is a SENTENCE FRAGMENT. Therefore, these examples are mistakes: Who worked on the project with me.
Which was a fabulous project.
Because we work so well together.
If I had done my fair share sooner.
After we finished at the last minute.
A COORDINATING CONJUNCTION leaves the clause it begins independent. The coordinating conjunctions are and, but, for, nor, or, so

Parallel Structure
Brought to you by the Purdue University Online Writing Lab For more information about sentence structure, see our workshop on this topic. Parallel structure means using the same pattern of words to show that two or more ideas have the same level of importance. This can happen at the word, phrase, or clause level. The usual way to join parallel structures is with the use of coordinating conjunctions such as "and" or "or."

    • Basic (Simple) Sentence Types
A simple sentence describes only one thing or idea, and expresses a complete thought, and has only one verb - it contains only an independent (main) clause. Even adding adjectives, adverbs, and prepositional phrases to a simple sentence or joining several nouns with a conjunction does not change it into a complex sentence. Main basic sentences include: Declarative (Narrative) Sentence: is used to form statements. The subject precedes its verbs.
