SOUTHEAST COMMUNITY COLLEGE - BEATRICE
Transfer Course Equivalencies
Updated May 2004 Following is a list of current course equivalents between SCC-Beatrice and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln; credit at NU is stated in semester hours. If a specific UNL course equivalent has not been identified, other notations are used.
  • GNCR; course transfers as UNL general hours
  • SUBJ; course transfers as subject area hours (e.g., ENGLXXX, MATHXXX) not assigned to a specific course
  • NDAP; excess transfer course hours which are included in the equivalency and generally not degree-applicable
  • VCRD; vocational/skill development course: limited application to a UNL degree
  • HSCR; course is high school or remedial level; hours and course do not transfer
Contact your NU college to determine whether a course will be applicable to your intended major. While every effort is made to keep this list up to date, courses may be added or deleted at any time. Courses not listed may also be transferable and degree applicable. Equivalencies are date-specific and dependent upon when the course was taken. Equivalencies no longer in effect are not included in the list, but will be included in NU's evaluation of transfer credit if taken during the period the equivalency was in effect. In some cases, two or more transfer courses may be needed to achieve the equivalent of a UNL course. For an official evaluation of transfer credits, students are encouraged to apply for admission to NU, and submit complete high school and post-secondary transcripts. Begin your search for courses by selecting one of SCC-Beatrice's subject abbreviations:

Tom Krahelski "No Mulligans for Tom"
To hear him tell it, he is just a golf bum and gambler. The reality is that Tom Krahelski is a practicing attorney in public law, a scratch golfer, historical blues collector, student of gambling and golf, owner of a classic Porsche Carrera and one of the most avid devotees of mule racing in the country. Hence, the unofficial official title of AMRA Southern California Gambling Representative Tom states, "I discovered mule racing more than two years ago while I was at OTB. After deciphering the speed indexes and the other information in the Daily Racing Form past performances, I became very impressed by the durability and consistency of these wonderful animals. I’ve been betting close to ninety percent of the mule races at OTB ever since, with considerable success." Golf is his passion. "I spend one month each year at St. Andrews, Scotland playing golf," says Tom. While there, he also spends
times betting on greyhound races. For the past twenty years his golf handicap has been between scratch and three. (See info on Tom’s "hole in one" on the web www.standrews.org.uk/courses/holeinone.htm) In his professional life, Tom practices law in the County Counsel’s Office in San Bernardino County doing general civil work including contracts, leases, and special district assignments. He has been a lawyer since 1974, with two years of private practice, nineteen years of public law, and a hiatus from the bar for six years to bet on horses full time.

Biographies Gail Taylor "I have been exploring the elements of group genius since teaching my first class of second graders in 1963. This was a peak experience in creative genius for me, watching them bring ideas to reality in the most remarkable and unencumbered ways. Since then, my work has focused on discovering the how's of removing blocks to adult creativity - not teaching creativity; releasing it. My degree is in education from the University of Kansas and training in Montessori methods. In 1972, after teaching in public and Montessori schools for several years, I founded the Learning Exchange as a center where teachers could exchange ideas and rekindle their creativity and enthusiasm for teaching. The Learning Exchange became a successful, nationally recognized, community educational resource center now in its 27th year. Matt and I met in 1976 and married in 1977. Together, we created MG Taylor corporation to develop processes, tools, and environments that support and facilitate the release of group genius to solve 'systemic' problems problems that a group cannot solve without engaging a larger system, of which they represent only one part. Working together, we have grown the enterprise, it's scope of influence and it's vision, deeply effecting thousands of individuals and hundreds of organizations along the way.
