Personal Bios of Some of our Residents and Faculty
Our residents and faculty have a strong commitment to medicine and a wide variety of other interests. We thought you might enjoy getting to know some of the people in our division on a more personal basis. Heather Shull, M.D. is a 3rd year resident in the internal medicine primary care program. Her favorite part of the training is spending time at her continuity clinic at High Street where she is busy preparing for a career in outpatient medicine. The majority of her free time (yes, there is some during residency) is devoted to her family. Christopher is her 2-year-old son who was 11 weeks old when she started internship, Rodney is her pharmacist husband and "baby" is expected in January 2003. Christopher as he is becoming more verbal and independent has begun to insist that "he wait up at night until mommy comes home from the hospital." Her other interests include scrapbooking the many pictures that have piled up recently, running and reading. She can also bake a mean Andes mint chocolate cookie. Larry Feinberg, M.D.

Tips for newbies
This is a very simple email tip but one that is surprisingly unknown by a large number of email users: BCC means Blind Carbon Copy and has the effect that email receivers will not know who else has been sent the message. Just enter the addresses as normal in the BCC section and put your own email address in the "To" box. You will receive a copy of the email sent. This is very useful for sending out email to more than one address where the receivers do not necessarily know each other. In fact it is possible that in certain cases, not using the BCC option may be contrary to privacy law in your country! Sometimes when you are waiting for a Webpage to load, things appear to stall. Often it's best to click on "Reload" or "Refresh" and try again. The problem can be due to heavy network traffic or an overburdened web server and therefore may not be solved this way, but in a lot of cases this will do the trick. Another tip is to use the "Esc" button on your keyboard if you mistakenly enter in the wrong Web address or inadvertently click on something. The "Stop" button will do the same thing but often the page will have started loading and it will be too late to use it. Right click on the Internet Explorer shortcut on the desktop and select Properties to get to Internet Properties or right click on the My Computer icon and Properties will get you to System Properties. Either option doesn't require you to go through the Control Panel. Right clicking on Start also presents some handy options. One of the handiest right click options is, anywhere in the browser, to go back or forward without having to move your mouse. Don't forget the right click when in email, where you can select reply to sender. There are lots more options but these are just starters to get you used to using that right mouse button.

Carol and John have two children: Ben born in 1991 is an avid sports fan and movie buff, and Madeline was born in 1993 and instantly wanted to be just like her big brother. On top of piano lessons and soccer, Madeline is a bundle of energy who loves school and parties of any kind. Carol spends her days at Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children as a scientific researcher seeking to unlock the mysteries of the genetic foundation of diseases like scoliosis, club foot, and dyslexia. She loves her work at the hospital and hopes to some day contribute to the elimination of these diseases from our society. Like most of the families we see at Wise Orthodontics, the Wise family stays busy.
John left college in 1983 and began dental school at Baylor College of Dentistry where he graduated in 1987. He worked as a general dentist for 3 years in Celina and Pilot Point, Texas before be began his Orthodontic residency at the University of Texas Dental Branch in Houston. In 1992 he returned to North Texas where he opened the Frisco office just as the town was starting to really grow. His involvement in the community began immediately, and in 1996 he served as President of the Frisco Chamber of Commerce. He has also been very involved in the local dental community where he has served as President of the 4th District Dental Society of the Texas Dental Association. This group's causes includes Texas Dentists for Healthy Smiles which brings reduced fee dental care to local children who are in need.
