Grant Dalpes - PGA General Manager
Grant began his career at Willis Case Municipal Golf Course in Denver, Colo., were he worked from 1982-1986, then as an assistant (1986-89) at Cherry Hills Country Club in Englewood, Colo., and El Paso (Texas) Country Club (1989-92). Since coming to Desert Lakes, Grant has developed high quality programs in Junior Golf, Tournaments and Teaching as well as a Marketing and Promotions programs that have helped Desert Lakes consistently grow in both revenues and rounds played. By his extensive work in junior golf, Grant earned the 1995 and 1996 Sun Country PGA Junior Golf Leader Award and was the 1997 Sun Country PGA Golf Professional of the Year . He served on the Sun Country PGA Board of Directors from 1991 to 2001 and was president of the Sun Country PGA Section from 1996-98. Starting in November 2003 Grant will serve a three year term on the PGA of America’s National Board of Directors. As District 12 Director, Grant will represent the Northern Texas, Southern Texas and Sun Country Sections.

    Al Lawler, Director of Golf Al Lawler believes that every member and guest should be provided with the best possible service. The golf professional should be able to give the member and the club a wide variety of services, not only managing the golf course, but also giving the best possible advice on playing, equipment, merchandise, club repair, and club fitting. His education and experience have borne out this belief. Al has been in the golf business since 1986. He has a bachelors degree from Mississippi State University, and majored in marketing in the Professional Golf Management Program. This program allowed him to broaden his experience in all aspects of professional golf management, including food service, personnel management, and turf grass management. Combined with the cooperative education program, he also gained experience at two18-hole private facilities, an 18-hole semi-private facility, and an 18-hole daily fee facility, hosting PGA Tour events, as well as other U.S.G.A. and sectional qualifying tournaments. After graduating from Mississippi State University, he was an assistant golf professional at the Jack Nicklaus-designed Country Club of Louisiana in Baton Rouge from August 1989 until March 1991. While there, he gained more experience as the Club hosted the third Ben Hogan Tour event and an U.S.G.A. Mid Amateur Sectional Qualifying Tournament.
