With thousands of new web pages being added on a daily basis, it is sometimes difficult to find the data for which you are searching. This page provides links to searchable (or semi-searchable) genealogical databases and sites, along with maps and online books. All web pages linked here have data. Links to maps for particular areas are being listed for that locality. Each entry has a map image in front of it - and the maps are generally not searchable. There's nothing quite like having a library online - especially if the library contains books that are helpful, sometimes even vital, for genealogical research. Online books often do not have search capacities, and are therefore not included in the searchable links below. These books, however, are too vital to ignore, and are included here. My favorite genealogical libraries also have a large collection of state, county, and town histories

Certified copies of birth and death certificates, and marriage and divorce verifications can be obtained from the Vital Records Section online, in person, via fax or mail. In addition, composite non-identifying data from these vital records are used by our Health Statistics Section to monitor and report on trends in public health. Getting Records Record Content Other Sources Freedom of Information ... High School Yearbooks Vital Records are records of births, marriages and deaths collected under the laws of the State of New Jersey. These documents help establish identity and verify events by providing names, ages, and hometowns of individuals. Certain restrictions govern the use of and access to these documents. Records begin in the towns and cities of NJ, within the office of the local Registrar of Vital Statistics. Original records are sent to the State Registrar in Trenton, copies are kept locally. Official collection of vital records began in 1848, but county clerks did record information on marriages before that date. The

I am offering research services for Vermont and the surrounding area. I also offer Abstracts of the Marriage and Death notices from 1826 - 1841. See explanation below. Both are for sale in my ebay store at: Genealogy-and-Stuff or contact me at: SRW7655@aol.com The Vermont Chronicle In 1999 I began the small (huh!) task of transcribing abstracts of the marriage and death notices from the VERMONT CHRONICLE. The CHRONICLE was published weekly in Bellows Falls and Windsor Vermont from 1826 to 1898. I will be including all the notices I can, but some year's newspapers were missing from the collection, others were in just too poor shape to handle. Although the information contained in the newspaper's postings is sparse, I felt it would still be valuable to researchers whose ancestors hailed from Vermont. When I first began this project I was transcribing all the information into a database, but that was time consuming. Many of you also requested copies of the original documents, but due to the fragile nature of the documents (I am working with original newspapers) I could not offer photocopies. These requests prompted me to find a better way to get the information to you, in the form that you wish. I purchased a digital camera and figured out how to use it, so I now offer digitized copies (click here to see a sample )of the original newspaper notices, rather than the abstracts that I was offering. I will still be posting the indexes as in the past
