    Resumes
It is a selling tool that outlines your skills and experiences so an employer can see, at a glance, how you can contribute to their company. Facts
    • A job often attracts between 100 and 1000 resumes. 1 interview for every 200 resumes is granted.
Before you begin Think of your resume as an advertisement. There is no need to hard sell or make any claims that are not true, but you will need to be willing to boast about yourself.
    • Put yourself in the shoes of the person doing the hiring. Be clear on what the employer is looking for and what you have to offer. Look for connections between what you have done and what the employer is looking for. Ask yourself these questions:
What would make someone the perfect candidate? What special abilities would this person have?

Send your questions or comments to nate@paleopubs.com The Journey
Growing up in the heart of the Columbia Plateau presented ample opportunity to explore the forces of nature both past and present. Vast volcanic fields eroded by massive glacial floodwaters provided irrefutable proof of the planets ever changing and resilient character. The experience was greatly enhanced through the rich history of natives, explorers, scientists, and everyday people who had made the same journey before us. The writings of reverend Thomas Condon, the Sternberg family, paleontologist Edward Drinker Cope, Professor George Beck, geologists like J. Harlan Bretz, and many more filled the mind with curiosity that could not be contained. Twenty some years later the trip continues but now we have a vast amount of literature collected in the search for answers. We have decided it's time to share these treasures with others. Enjoy Life's Journey!

published by a group of European mineralogical societies. gemology Gems gemology from the Joint publication of Spanish mineral collectors associations.
    http://www.hedegaard.com/Links/Min.html
Reviewed links to mineralogy and palaeontology
These are "reviewed" links and not "Claus' links to everything on the web." That means, I have visited the sites and found they they carry some useful original information for mineral and fossil collectors, that would be good to have if you are interested in ... whatever. That is obviously frightfully pretentious, but there are already several substantial collections of unreviewed links, some of which I have included. Use those. The criteria for inclusion on this list are roughly:
      a) The site contains original editorial material (e.g., locality descriptions), or
      b) describes or gives access to such information (e.g., publisher's web pages).
Mostly I exclude sites that are collections of links, address and staff directories, compilations of photographs or mere pricelists. Many sites include such material and I have no problems with that, but by itself it does not tell me anything about rocks. Similarly, I do not link to every museum or earth sciences department with a web site, but only to those offering on-line displays. If you need museum web sites, consult the museum directory in the Other information section.
