I never was married, haven't a child, am single child for my parents. I'm living with mother, it's widespread in former USSR. By profession I'm a computer-technician and a system programmer. My hobby now is the Internet. I began to crossdress in about 1974; learnt that SRS is real in USSR in about 1987; took first self-"prescribed" hormonal pill in 1989; cleared chest, arms and hands by electrolysis mostly in 1992-1993; said my mother that I'm a (then non-op) TS in January 1993; began intensive HRT without breaks in October 1996; began facial electrolysis in December 1996 (totally had for the present 525 hours of electrolysis); went out en femme for the first time (and said my mother that I intend to undergo SRS) on May 3, 1997; went androgynous gradually in the summer 1997; went almost full-time (about 98% of time because legal name/gender change is possible here now only after SRS) in the summer 1998; underwent obligatory for all TSs here month long evaluation in a psychiatric hospital in August 1998; got permission for SRS on November 30, 1998; underwent SRS on January 11, 1999 (surgeons Alexandr Hoholya and Sergey Galich, here in Kiev); legally changed name/gender in April-June 1999.

Organization of a Siberian branch of the Institute of Psychiatry, USSR Academy of Medical Sciences in the city of Tomsk in 1981was a great event in its history, as the above branch played an important part in the development of medical science in the given region. The MHRC RAMS was actually organized by academicians of RAMS Andrey Vladimirovich Snezhnevsky and Marat Enokovich Vartanyan, who eventually became directors (in 1982-1987 and 1987 - 1993, respectively). Since 1994, the Mental Health Research Centre of RAMS has been headed by the Academician of RAMS, Professor Alexander Sergeevich Tiganov. From the very first days of its existence MHRC RAMS was formed as a complex research establishment, intended for solving problems both of clinical and biological psychiatry. The development of fundamental problems of neuroscience were integrated and reflected in its initial structure. In 1990, the Brain Research Institute once again received the status of an independent establishment of the Academy of Medical Sciences (which it had had since 1954). The branches of the Centre in Tomsk and Yerevan also became independent. In 1986 the former became the Mental Health Scientific Research Institute (director - V. Ya. Semke) of Tomsk Scientific Centre, which was later included in the Siberian department of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences. MHRC RAMS also started functioning as a unified scientific institution regarding its internal organization (with no subdivision into institutes of clinical and preventive psychiatry).

Remains of ancient, mediaeval, revival and modern culture coexist and are interwoven into the unobtrusive, irresistible and eternal beauty of this city. They do not stand in each other's way; they complement and enrich each other to make Plovdiv a synonym of Bulgarian history and a genuine world city. Plovdiv is very, very old. The Eternal City, as Rome is conventionally called, is much younger. Athens, Carthage and Constantinople came into being later. A contemporary of Troy and having survived Mycenae, Plovdiv is a city upon layers of cities and an epoch upon layers of epochs. Plovdiv is all in one: a Thracian and classical Greek polis, the pride of Philip of Macedon, the capital of Thrace under the Roman Empire, a centre of Byzantinism, a stronghold of the Bulgarians, a dream of the crusaders a magnificent, wealth and most important city. Kendros, Eumolpia, Philippopolis, Pulpudeva, Thrimonzium, Pulden, Populdin, Ploudin, Filibe those were the ancient names of Plovdiv throughout its 6000 to 8000 years of existence. The name Plovdiv first appeared in 15 century documents and has remained till today. In the distant past Plovdiv was situated on seven hills: Taxim, Nebet, Jambaz, Sahat, Jendem and Bunarjik. The seventh hill, Markovo Tepe, has nowadays subsided completely under the pavement of modern Plovdiv.

A History of Wolves in Russia
By: Evgeni Okhtin, Chief of the Russian Independent Research Group
I n September 1998, Wolf Song of Alaska entered into an exchange of information about wolves in Russia and the former Soviet Union. Our Executive Director, Tom Talasz, began a dialog with Evgeni Okhtin, Chief of the Russian Independent Research Group. Very little is known about wolves in Russia, so we wanted to share portions of exclusive conversations with the visitors to our web site. The translation of this particular conversation, from Russian to English, is as close to the original text and interpretation as possible.

the wolf and the relations between the wolf and humans have not been

Speakers at the annual Keston Forum challenge the received opinion that a coherent organisation of Islamic extremists exists in the old USSR lands
A report by Paul Stevenson. HRWF International Secretariat (24.11.1999) - Website: http://www.dhsf.net - Email: info@hrwf.net - The western view of Islam as a coherent conspiracy, funded and driven by Iran, was ‘crazy’ and ‘absurd’ according to learned speakers at the annual Forum of the Keston Institute, held on Saturday, 13th November 1999, under the chairmanship of its director, Lawrence Uzzell, at St Anthony's College, Oxford. In his keynote speech, ‘Religion and Revolt: Islam Divided in the Former Soviet Union ’, Anatol Lieven, the former ‘Times’ correspondent, spoke from his personal observation of the tragedy in Chechnya. Mr Lieven said: "People who, in the past, have been busy demonising Islam suddenly decided to make them heroes when they were attacked by Russia. But the notion of a vast octopus spreading over the old USSR republics is crazy." The bitter hatred between Iran and the Taliban was just one example of Islam divided, he said. "Iran is treated in the West as though it is standing behind Islamic revolt in the Caucasus, but this is absurd." In Afghanistan, he said, the Afghans had destroyed the entire modern apparatus of the state, because they hate the concept of the modern state, and see them as evidences of corrupt institutions. "They are happy enough with traditional feudal society based on clans and elders, and at the local level it has always worked well enough — settling feuds over land, water and women, for instance — but the traditional set-up was totally unable to resist Russia." They had been forced to act together as a nation to build resistance to the invaders, so the village society was replaced by the ‘modernising’ national society of the "tyrannical and brutal Taliban." Nevertheless, Mr Lieven said, in the context of traditional Afghanistan, Taliban has been a modernising force, representing a more coherent and stable form of government that that which they had had before.

The Message International)
(This is a summary of the article developed by Dr. A. Zahoor.)

There are about 80 million Muslims in what was Soviet Union. In spite of their number, the outside world seems to know little about them. Of the 16 states that comprised the Soviet Union, Muslims were in majority in eight of them when the Communists took over in 1917. The Muslim majority areas in what was the Soviet Union were: 1. Uzbekistan, 2. Tajikistan, 3. Azerbaijan, 4. Georgia and Armenia, 5. Kazakhstan, 6. Kirghizia, 7. Tatar and Bashkar, 8. Caucasia and 9. Cremia. Islam was introduced in Uzbekistan in the 8th century during the time of the Umayyad Caliph Abdul Malik bin Marwan. For twelve hundred years, the entire area remained under Muslim rule. Uzbekistan has produced several renowned scholars of Hadith and Fiqh, besides leading Muslim philosophers, physicians and mathematicians. It was also in the early 8 th century, the entire population of Tajikistan embraced Islam, even before the message of Islam reached Afghanistan. The message of Islam reached Azerbaijan in 14 AH (636 CE), and it became a part of the Islamic world in the year 113 AH during the period of Umayyad Caliph Hisham bin Abdul Malik. Muslim merchants introduced Islam to the European Russia in the beginning of 10 th century. There are about 10 million Muslims in the Tatar, Bashkar, Kazan, the Ural and in the Volga river valley.

CENTRE FOR RUSSIAN STUDIES
The Centre for Russian Studies at the School of Slavonic and East European Studies (UCL) exists to promote research and teaching on Russia, the former USSR and the Russian Empire. The primary aim of the Centre is to create a more distinct focus within the School for cultural, historical, linguistic, literary and social sciences research into Russia, past and present, and thereby to improve the environment for joint and individual research on Russia, including interdisciplinary and comparative approaches. The Centre aims also to promote knowledge and discussion of Russia in the broader academic community and with the public at large. Its activities enhance the quality of both postgraduate and undergraduate teaching and at the same time provide a 'home' for the many SSEES research and MA students with an interest in Russia. Activities: SSEES is the major centre for Russian studies in the UK. More than twenty full-time members of faculty language, literature and culture specialists, historians, social scientists devote all or most of their research and teaching to Russia. At the MA level, more than 50 students are taking Russian-based courses and/or writing their dissertations on a Russia-related topic and some 25 students are doing their postgraduate research on Russian and the former USSR, ranging from 17th-century icons to 20th-century poets, from Soviet cinema to post-Soviet politics. About 125 undergraduates are registered for degrees in Russian studies and combined degrees including Russian, with many more taking one or more courses with a Russian component, in particular politics, history and language. Oil played a major role for Azerbaijan during all history. and in 1943 reached the record mark 23 million tons (70% of oil produced in former ussr).
http://www.gia.az/html/oil1.html
FROM THE HISTORY OF AZERBAIJAN OIL As a result of oil boom Baku turned into the international investment center. By the end of the XIX century oil producing company of the Nobel Brothers and Rotshilds company controlled more than 40% of the oil market. 20 years later Royal Dutch Shell and Russian Petroleum Company were added to them which jointly possessed 60% of all wells. Then the leading foreign banks had opened in Baku overseas representations to control the international capital. At the same time the first Azerbaijan banks were established on the basis of the capital of local oil producers. The larger were Hadji Zeynalabdin Tagiyev, Aga Musa Nagiyev, Murtuz Mukhtarov, Isabek Gadjinsky, et al. The development of oil sphere had caused growth of other branches of economy, that had reduced to public advance. By crossing borders of oil sphere it reflected in construction and architecture, education, science and culture. After a falling of Azerbaijan Democratic Republic (1918-1920) and establishment of a communist formation under the Soviet rulement the oil production in Azerbaijan kept on developing and in 1943 reached the record mark - 23 million tons (70% of oil produced in former USSR). But it had not reduced to increase of a living standard of the population. The first offshore oil field of Azerbaijan was prospected in 1949. For its operation the unique city on piles “Neft Dashlari” was built. It was the first experience of offshore oil production in the world. At the same time there was a development of oil science and engineering in Azerbaijan, which were and remain one of leading in the world. Azerbaijan oilmen participated in development of oil sector not only within former USSR, but also abroad.

Uzbekistan: History
The history of Uzbekistan, its culture and statehood, foreign economic and social ties of the territory is more than 2.5 millennia. Uzbekistan's freedom loving population fought for its independence against all foreign invaders during centuries. Situated on the crossroads of the Great Silk Road, the region played an important role in the dialogue of different civilizations. its flourishing in the ancient times, then during the reign of the Samanids and Timurids is connected with the involvement of the region in the international economic interrelations. As far back as in the pre-Islamic period, Zoroastrism the world spread religious system was born on the territory of the present day Uzbekistan (in Khorezm) and became common property of all mankind. There was formed the highest technological culture of those times: town-planning, irrigation systems, armory, silk-weaving, cultivation of grain, cotton, grapes and fruits. In those times local technologies and master-craftsmen (Ustos) were highly valued and appreciated. The synthetic character is rather typical for this particular civilization: Combination of achievements gained by the Sogdians, peoples of Khorezm, Turks, India, China, Iran, Middle East and by Hellenism. The religious extension of Islam to Maverannahr, accompanied by military invasions of the Arabs in the 7-8th centuries met with the resistance from the local religious tradition, embodied in the Zoroastrism of the Sogdians and Backtrians, Buddhism of the residents of Balkh and the Upper Amudarya, and the growing authority of the Christian communities. However later on the population of the region was convinced in the great cultural and moral possibilities of Islam.

The Russian bourgeois-comprador regime once again decided to do away with the ideals of Communism and Bolshevism, to bury the great historical facts of former USSR. This is on the eve of the 80 th Anniversary of the death of V.I. Lenin. In this muddy, filthy, obnoxious campaign the government pulled out all the stops in this murky attempt, of course of the eve of the Presidential election, with the help of their "masters of culture " to do away with the body of V.I. Lenin from the Mausoleum on the Red Square. Even with all of these " experts" in muddying the waters, they could not come up with anything new. Calling Lenin a national traitor, getting German gold to start the 1917 Revolution, his bloody cruelty and murder of people…they call upon all people to agree to rebury Lenin in a " Christian Burial " - of course, get him out of the Lenin Mausoleum. And of course, the 125th Anniversary of the birth of Stalin coming, these traitors could not let this pass by, they dragged out again and again the stories of "repressions
