After spending so many years away from home, he appears to have developed the thin skin that you expect from the proselytisers of victimhood, rather than an ex-Tory Minister. He has taken up his pen and written a response to Straw explaining that his words are " inappropriate " and have caused offence. Who ever said that Europeans didn't have a sense of humour!

UPDATE, August 2003: It has recently come to my attention that a person going by the name of "Robert Winer" has seen fit to plagiarize the following piece of work with a few minor alterations and claim it as his own. While I appreciate the fact that Mr. Winer has taken the initiative to distribute these words of mine far and wide, I would like to remind him that it is quite discourteous of him to claim credit for another's work. Imitation may be the sincerest form of flattery, but plagiarism is just plain rude. I invite comments on this matter: anarchiebunker@yahoo.com
Q: Daddy, why did we have to attack Iraq?
A: Because they had weapons of mass destruction.
Q: But the inspectors didn't find any weapons of mass destruction.
A: That's because the Iraqis were hiding them.

Known for his award winning PBS documentaries, in this segment he interviews several different people involved with the CIA and other government agencies who speak about various U.S. foreign policy covert and overt operations that took place during the Cold War era. Globalism and Foreign Policy
Kerby Anderson
A small but powerful group of internationalists is bent on bringing every aspect of our world society under one, universal political system. The philosophy behind this movement is known as globalism. In this article we will be looking at the subject and describing how it has been promoted by the Bush and Clinton administrations. First, I would like to begin by looking at the goals of globalists. Though they are a diverse and eclectic group of international bankers, politicians, futurists, religious leaders, and economic planners, they are unified in their desire to unite the planet under a one-world government, a single economic system, and a one- world religion. Through various governmental programs, international conferences, and religious meetings, they desire to unite the various governments of this globe into one single network. Although this can be achieved in a variety of ways, the primary focus of globalists is on the next generation of young people. By pushing global education in the schools, they believe they can indoctrinate students to accept the basic foundations of globalism. According to one leader of this movement, global education seeks to "prepare students for citizenship in the global age." They believe that this new form of education will enable future generations to deal effectively with population growth, environmental problems, international tensions, and terrorism. But something stands in the way of the designs of the globalists. As a result, they have targeted for elimination three major institutions whose continued existence impedes their plans to unite the world under a single economic, political, and social global network.

      PREFACE
FOREIGN POLICY BY CANADIANS A new and broader process for foreign policy formulation. Ensuring Canada's success as a society in a changing world must be a shared enterprise. The future of each one of us depends on it. That is why the Government is pledged to an open foreign policy process. We have delivered on that pledge in a number of ways. First, by strengthening Parliament's role.
      • In the past year, the Government initiated several special parliamentary debates on critical issues such as peacekeeping in Bosnia and cruise-missile testing in Canada. The Government also asked a Special Joint Parliamentary Committee to seek the views of Canadians and to report on the principles and priorities that should guide foreign policy. The Committee held over 70 meetings, received over 550 briefs, heard from over 500 witnesses, and commissioned several studies from experts. It tabled its comprehensive report in November 1994, along with valuable background material. The Government commends the Members of the Senate and of the House of Commons who sat on the Committee. They conducted their work with openness, diligence and integrity. The Government also thanks the many individuals and groups who met with the Committee, who made submissions, and who participated in the challenge of reviewing our foreign policy.

Back Print version The Government Foreign Policy Statement 2004 "At this moment, Sweden is taking action in a whole range of areas to increase security in our vicinity, in Europe and around the world", said Minister for Foreign Affairs Laila Freivalds when presenting this year's Foreign Policy Statement to the Riksdag on 11 February. She continued: "We are acting to prevent armed conflicts starting and to stop ongoing wars and limit their consequences. We are acting in states that are disintegrating as a result of civil war or ethnic cleansing. We are acting against terrorists, traffickers in human beings and organised crime."

The Weimar Republic II:
Foreign Policy Problems
One of the handicaps from which the republican regime suffered was its acceptance of the Treaty of Versailles. The conduct of foreign policy was, therefore, an especially tricky matter for any republican government. Having opted for the West and for democracy in 1919, Germany could regard herself as having been rebuffed by the West at Versailles. It was natural to reconsider the other option, alignment with Russia, without, of course, accepting communism. As a dissatisfied ''revisionist'' power, Russia could regard the League of Nations as an organization of the victors alone.
Count Brockdorff-Rantzau, foreign minister in 1919 and later ambassador in Moscow, tended to think in terms of an alliance with Russia. But Walther Rathenau, the German foreign minister in 1922, conceived of German-Russian relations differently. He wished to gain freedom of diplomatic maneuver by means of treaties and agreements with Russia, but without sacrificing the long-range goal of accommodation and alignment with the West.
