AdviceMonkey providing you with agricultural, eat, food, science, job, agriculture, and agriculturalist information. agriculture.
http://www.advicemonkey.com/agriculture.html
Agriculture            Agriculture was once the biggest source of employment in the world. Farming is now mainly done by machines, which is the reason why most people are not working on farms today. There is still industries in agriculture, were you could still get a job. Many of the people in agricultural are scientist and they do test on foods, and make sure what we eat is safe. They also study animals because a lot of the food we eat comes from animals, such as dairy or meat products             As an agriculturalist, you will be required to study food and live stock. You will be testing animals and food to see if it is safe for consumers to eat, or any other ways to make existing foods better. You will also try to invent new types of healthy foods, which will be good for people to eat because if you look at the facts, most people in this world eat unhealthy. It is very rare to see people eating the right amount of healthy food a day.             There are many skills required in becoming an agriculturist, such as being very knowledgeable in biology, chemistry, physics, math, communication and any other related subjects. These subjects are usually the harder groups to understand in life, but if you want to be an agriculturalist, you have not other choice, but to learn them. You will have to be able to work in the field, and not be afraid of insects. You will also be required to have great communication skills because you will have to talk to people about what you researched, and write on your findings.

The Human Nutrition and Food Science Department offers two Bachelor of Science degree programs that prepare students for challenging and rewarding careers and provide a strong academic background for graduate study and research. The effect of nutrition on health promotion and disease prevention, as well as food safety, is of much national concern. Four of the top ten causes of death in U.S. adults are linked to diet. Southern California is a major food industry center as well as a leader in public health institutions. There are many opportunities for internships, field trips, guest speakers, and jobs for our students. Cal Poly Pomona is a university founded on the principle of "learn by doing." The curriculum, facilities, and faculty reflect a commitment to a strong, up-to-date, science-based program that provides the types of skills and knowledge needed by graduates to meet professional goals. The mission vision is that graduates will significantly impact on the health and well-being of members of society.

Table of Contents FOOD SCIENCE IS APPLIED SCIENCE! According to the Institute of Food Technologists – Food Science is the discipline in which biology, physical sciences, and engineering are used to study the nature of foods, the causes of their deterioration, and the principles underlying food processing. Food Technology is the application of food science to the selection, preservation, processing, packaging, distribution, and use of safe, nutritious, and wholesome food. A Food Scientist studies the physical, microbiological, and chemical makeup of food. Depending on their area of specialization, Food Scientists may develop ways to process, preserve, package, or store food, according to industry and government specifications and regulations. Consumers seldom think of the vast array of foods and the research and development that has resulted in the means to deliver tasty, nutritious, safe, and convenient foods. Type Of Work Performed by Food Scientists
    • Research, interpretation, and application of information regarding the basic composition, structure and properties of foods
