EXCEPT-2
is a Country / Folk / Bluegrass / Cajun band from Delft in Holland
(the Netherlands).
The band has 7 members , including two ladies ( EXCEPT-2 On February 24, 1995 EXCEPT-2 started their history when the two acoustic playing bands,
Country Stuff " and " Country Target " formed the new band EXCEPT-2 Country Stuff " was originally a bluegrass oriented band; with instruments as guitar,
banjo, mandolin, violin and bass. Country Target " specialized in harmony vocals, with Mireille as the lead-vocal,
supported by acoustic guitar and dobro. It is evident that the "result" of such a "marriage" will be "acoustic sounds",
with bluegrass elements and close-harmony vocals.
This provides a wide range of music styles, with Cajun music as the most recent addition. So EXCEPT-2 boasts the luxurious possession of a female lead-vocalist ( Mireille
and a male lead-vocalist ( Ruud ), which extends the variation in songs by more than a factor 2 ! The first CD " EXCEPTIONAL " was released in autumn 1997 and sold-out within one year !

A Great Weekend
We just got back from the Gamble Rogers Folk Festival and we had a great time. We ran into a lot of old friends and made a whole bunch of new ones. On Saturday, we sang a new song called "We All Got a Name." Several people asked about the song afterwards, so here's a free mp3 of the tune . Think 1960's sit-in and maybe the rawness of the recording will be a plus.
