If they'd been cynically expecting a wafer thin plot tacked together with a few set pieces then they're in for a surprise as well: it's actually rather good, involving Staines' favourite son in a wide range of amusing situations. Somehow he's got himself involved in politics - running for election under the slogan "tax the panty" and he's also got himself a sidekick, Ricky C who if anything is more ridiculous than Ali himself . Add to the mix top supporting turns by Charles Dance and Micheal Gambon plus a killer soundtrack to propel the whole thing along and you've got yourself a hit. Nice one to working title films.
