166. Kona Coffee - 100% Estate Grown From Perry Estate Farms, Kona Hawaii
Whole beans, handpicked, roasted in small batches. Describes family history and requirements for Estate coffee labeling.
http://www.perrykonacoffee.com
Aloha and welcome to Perry Estate Farms. We sell nothing but the highest quality 100% estate-grown Kona coffee, hand-picking only the ripe cherry several times per year in the traditional method to guarantee the very highest quality product. We still sun-dry our hand-washed and pulped beans the old-fashioned way, too. To insure the very freshest beans, this superior coffee is not stocked in stores, but is shipped directly to our clients, always as whole beans. We roast only small batches at a time so that the coffee is never warehoused. Our 3 acre family farm in Captain Cook, over one hundred years old, sits in the heart of the legendary Kona coffee country, where it is sun-kissed in the morning and blessed by the light afternoon rains. The high elevation of our farm gives us the best year-round growing. All our coffee trees are of the Arabica variety, which have been proven to produce the very best coffee for Kona’s climate. We offer this robust coffee in both Medium and Full City Roasts, but can do do other roasts on request. Try our family’s coffee and take a sip of Old Hawaii. Kona Lowell Design

http://www.ployes.com/
For generations the Bouchard Family has been milling a unique light buckwheat flour in order to prepare "Ployes" (rhymes with boys). A recipe based on the one created by the French Acadian exiles who settled in Northern Maine, Ployes are as elegant as a fine crepe, as hearty as a breakfast pancake and as versatile as any bread. Ployes are creating their own identity. From appetizers to main course to desserts and snacks, they keep finding new ways to make meals interesting. We invite you to try a product rich in taste and history. "C'est Magnifique!". Serving Suggestions:
  • For breakfast - topped with butter and maple syrup. For lunch or dinner - as a flat bread wrapped around your favorite filling.
  • For dessert - stuffed with berries and yogurt or ice cream.
  • With any meal - buttered and rolled.
The Bouchard Family Farm invites you to visit our web site and review our authentic French Acadian Buckwheat Products . Maybe you will try a few of the creative recipes for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks.

Farm Policy
PDF Something is wrong when profits of agribusiness corporations skyrocket, but farmers must find off-farm jobs or sell their farms to survive. I believe the United States must implement the following farm policies to benefit farmers, provide our nation with wholesome food, protect our natural resources, and restore our rural communities: Fair Price and Fair Markets
Cancel NAFTA and the WTO, replacing them with bilateral trade agreements designed to benefit family farmers and workers while protecting the health of communities and the environment. Country-of-origin labeling would be required. Empower farmers in the marketplace by providing incentives to join a collective bargaining unit with voluntary membership open only to active producers and the right to bring suit in federal court if an agribusiness doesn't bargain in good faith. Market Concentration
Create new markets by actively enforcing existing anti-trust laws and proposing new laws to force divestiture in concentrated markets, breaking apart monopolistic agribusiness companies and shifting farm economics towards higher commodity prices for farmers. To increase competition in the livestock industry, support a national ban on packer ownership of livestock.

As Minnesota Zoo staff visited with farmers and with urban, suburban, and rural students, we found that there is a lot of interest to explain and also to learn about how food gets from farms to tables. Farmers have a responsibility to provide agricultural products and to protect natural resources. The objective of the Wells Fargo Family Farm is to create a place for Minnesota Zoo visitors to become part of a community of people, plants and animals striving to maintain balance with nature. RESERVA RIO GUAYCUYACU
A nature reserve and family farm in Ecuador GENERAL INFORMATION RESERVA RIO GUAYCUYACU is a family farm at the junction of two rivers in the rainforested lowlands of northwest Ecuador. Location: 0° 13' N, 78° 55' W. Elevation: 600-800 m. Annual rainfall: 2700 mm. Temperatures range between 16-31° C. We have about 50 hectares of primary forest, with other large areas nearby; remaining acreage is in croplands, pasture and second-growth forest. The Río Guaycuyacu flows down between steep forested cockscomb ridges, forming waterfalls and pools before it joins the Río Guayllabamba. Resident animals include monkey, ocelot, jaguarundi, kinkajou, tayra, agouti; spiders and snakes, butterflies and beetles. 170 species of birds are on our list of sightings, among them four species of toucans. Characteristic plants include copal, rubber, pambil palm, tree fern, passion flowers and bromeliads. ACCOMMODATIONS: Besides the main house there are two cabins, each with living and sleeping space. We have good drinking water from a nearby spring, and 120 volt electricity from our small hydro generator. There is a world-class swimming hole just 3 minutes from the house, see photo. We enjoy good food, mostly vegetarian. Meals feature farm produce, including chocolate, tempeh, and over 300 species of tropical fruits.
