http://www.mlaproductions.com/danfall_home.html
The festival, co-sponsored by the Danville Area Chamber of Commerce and the Town of Danville , is now in its twelfth year and attracts over 50,000 people every year to beautiful Hartz Avenue in downtown Danville-a city 40 miles east of San Francisco that's a mix of beautiful residences from the Gold Rush days along with magnificent homes of the future. Quaint Hartz Avenue is a natural for unique specialty shops and gourmet dining. During October, the weather is usually unpredictable.
K ey ingredients to the success of this family event is the "home town" parade (Saturday, 10 a.m.), Safe Trick or Treating, a bigger and better Scarecrow Contest (see Contest page for Entry Form), a kids activity area sponsored by the San Ramon Valley Times and, of course, the high quality art and crafts being displayed by over 200 artisans. Street corner concerts plus mouth-watering food, fine wines & microbrews can also be found throughout the festival. This festival has approximately 60% contemporary and traditional crafts and 40% fine art.

September, 2000 issue Fall Crafts at Lyndhurst Fall Crafts at Lyndhurst has gathered 325 craft artists, representing 23 states, to display and sell jewelry, ceramics, hand-blown glass, fiber, wearable art, wood and leather at Lyndhurst, Tarrytown, on September 15, 16 and 17. The show hours are Friday, 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. and Sunday, 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. Since 1985, Crafts at Lyndhurst has been a benefit for the Lyndhurst estate, a property of the National Trust for Historic Preservation, and has raised over $800,000 to help the organization. Several of the artists this fall are from the Westchester area. Beverly Robben of Rye has been designing her own fabrics and creating wool blanket coats and jackets for 15 years. Her inspiration has come from the cave paintings in the south of France. Barbara Haring of Carmel creates two-dimensional shapes from slabs and decorates the two distinct surfaces with different motifs to enhance the shapes. From Buchanan, Barbara Lent, gets into the "Zen" of weaving. She explains that her color combinations "can come from anywhere...Sometimes it's a dream. Sometimes it's an oil stain on the road. My cat's fur was an inspiration for one." The popular "On the Lam" brass band and "Buffalo Hollow" bluegrass band will play continuously Saturday and Sunday. Children's activities such as story-telling and face painting will also be ongoing on those days. Tours of the Lyndhurst mansion are available at an additional charge.

September, 1997 issue Fall Crafts Show at Lyndhurst The annual Fall Crafts Show at Lyndhurst promises improved facilities. A "super tent" will replace the two tents used previously and organizers anticipate that it will reduce aisle crowding, minimize muddy conditions in heavy rains and make the tented area larger, brighter, and cooler. Artrider Productions, which conducts the show, will experiment with a new high-tech flooring system to allow visitors to walk on the site without getting wet or muddy. There will also be a new covered ticket/information pavilion and redesigned fencing to "create a more efficient circulation pattern and shorter waits at ticket lines." The thirteenth Fall Craft Show will feature 342 crafts people from 34 states, who exhibit and sell one of a kind pieces in a wide range of styles, including jewelry, ceramics, hand-blown glass, fiber, wearable art, wood and leather. Besides the spectacular display of crafts outside and inside the "super tent," visitors may tour the historic mansion, listen to continuous live music and enjoy children's activities such as story-telling. There will be a special arts and crafts area where children may create their own masterpieces. Kraft Foods property, which is next door to Lyndhurst, will be available for visitor parking. A free shuttle bus system will bring visitors from various parking areas throughout Tarrytown to the ticket booth. Metro-North riders will also be picked up by a shuttle bus and brought to the site.
