Scientists Discover Great Barra Reef

Posted by: Cindy on Jun 04, 2004 AD - 02:29 PM
Using the latest sonar techniology, scientists have found the United Kingdom's first known coral reef. It was found eight miles off the British coastline at a depth of 300 feet. It is a mile long with coral growth 15 feet high and 100 feet wide! The reef is southeast of Barra in the Western Isles. Experts believe this reef to be anywhere from 8,000 to 10,000 years old, holding secrets about the beginnings of marine life on Earth...

By Luke Bonavia Introduction Dutch, French and British Explorers have been discovering pieces of Australia since the 16th century until the first fleet arrived in 1788. If it wasn't for the great explorers such as Abel Tasman and Capt. James Cook, Australia would not exist on the world map. This web page focuses on the great achievements of the Australian explorers and their problems during the journey. We like to play inside ruins. Ars Subterranea is comprised of artists, historians, architects, and urban explorers wishing to create an intersection between art and architectural relics in the New York City area. Our aim is to instigate unique perceptions of New York's history by constructing narratives around the city's forgotten relics. Ars Subterranea encourages its audiences to interact with the city's neglected and ruinous locations by recreating obscure but fascinating aspects of its urban development. Our plans include art installations, unusual preservation campaigns, public treasure hunts, and much more. We invite you to find out more about our past and future projects and to contact us if you would like to know more.
News: We have begun our documentation of the hidden and abandoned sections of the Jersey City Medical Center, a massive medical complex that will close its doors forever in mid-May. For more information, please read our press release . And an article on Ars Subterranea founder Julia Solis can be found in the April issue of Smithsonian Magazine

http://www.telestrategies.com/iss_2004/
Dear Executive,
ISS World is a unique gathering of telecommunications service providers, government executives and law enforcement agents responsible for stopping hackers, criminals and terrorists from attacking and using our various telecommunications networks.
Why Three Tracks?
Track A: Network Security
Track B: Lawful Interception Track C: Fraud Control

To protect our network infrastructure, service providers, government executives and law enforcement agents have to deal with the bad guys who are hacking our networks, stealing network secrets or customer identity information and planning terrorist attacks over the Internet, wireless networks and the PSTN. From a service provider’s perspective, the same staff members often have to deal with network security, fraud control and lawful interception.
Why ISS?
Intelligence Support Systems (ISS) are tools that help telecommunications service providers protect their network as well as their customer’s networks from hackers and fraudmeisters as well as support lawful interception requests from law enforcement. Often the same ISS tools address all three areas of concern.
Why Now?

Welcome to the Virtual Exploration Society. Go over to the bar and get a root beer, then have a seat by the fire. Listen while the older members recount exciting true stories of explorers who have risked life and limb in the persuit of knowledge. Paddle down the Amazon with Percy Fawcett. Drive a dogsled to the North Pole with Peary and Henson. Go to a mysterious isolated island with the Burden Expedition to capture a living dragon. Risk an ancient Egyptian curse with Howard Carter as he opens the Tomb of King Tut. The Incredible Automobile Race of 1907 In 1907 eleven men set out to take the newly born automobile on an adventure across two continents and over deserts and through swamps. Would it be up to the challenge? Crossing the Atlantic By Air On July 25th, 1909, Louis Bleriot stunned the world by using an airplane to cross the English Channel. Only ten years later the first men to fly the Atlantic would tackle a distance of over one-hundred times greater than that of the Channel flight and incalculably more dangerous. Roy Chapman Andrews Was this adventurer/scientist the model for Hollywood's Indiana Jones?
