McClure's Genealogy.com Tip of the Day Family History Information and Resources: This is by no means a complete list of sources for finding genealogical data, but it is comprehensive enough to give you some idea of the wealth of knowledge available on individuals. It may also make you think of a source you had never considered. Most of the links on this page will take you to pages with links on that information while others may take you to articles on help. The sources listed by state would be a good first stop. Enjoy your stay and please stop by again as updates are done frequently. The most important source for family information is living relatives. Don't wait until it is too late to interview them ~ especially if they are up in years. Relatives, when asked specific questions, can become a fountain of information unavailable anywhere else.

    My Ancestry
This site grew out of my efforts to trace my family trees . I found most of the clues to my ancestry by searching online, particularly for my great-grandmother Cora Burns (pictured at the right). As I became fairly good at searching the various Web sites, friends and relatives have asked me to give them suggestions for searching. Since my background is in the area of software development, it made sense to me to develop a Web site based on what I had learned searching online. If you are interested in more about why I set up this site
