Genealogy is another one of my History related passions. Computers certainly do make genealogy somewhat easier. First of all, instead of drawing all the tables by hand and worrying about keeping huge files with large numbers of names, you can use one of a number of computer programmes . I personally use Family Tree Maker, but there are others out there as well. Secondly, the Web is a great resource for amateur genealogists, as you can now communicate with people from all over the world who are willing to help you track down information. There are so many websites that I'm only going to include a few, since they too have links pages.
Teresa's Family History Here's a little about my own family history. My mother is English (maiden name Spong) and my father is Polish (Basinski). My husband (last name Eckford) is from British Columbia and his family has been here for at least a century. ( Eckville , AB, Canada was founded by and named after his great-grandfather.)

Welcome to the Bricker Surname DNA Project
FIRST BRICKER DNA RESULTS DUE HERE IN MARCH
Suggestions for improving the content or
appearance of this webpage are welcomed
The various BRICKER families in the United States and Canada today descend from different immigrants who arrived here from Switzerland, Germany, France, Britain, and Eastern Europe. There appears to have been at least five different Bricker lines established in the 1700s by immigrants to Pennsylvania or Maryland from Europe, including those descending from: Peter Bricker, who settled in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania; Jacob Bricker, who settled in Northampton County, Pennsylvania; Peter Bricker, who settled in Berks County, Pennsylvania; Nicholas Bricker, who settled in York County, Pennsylvania; and Johannes Bricker, who settled in Frederick County, Maryland The purpose of the Bricker Surname DNA Project is to discover, by comparing our genealogical and genetic data:
  • WHICH among us with the Bricker surname are related because we shared the same ancestors? WHEN in the past could our common ancestors have lived?
