The History and Geography Department offers six degree programs at the undergraduate level. History Education General History Social Studies Education Geography ... Museum Studies Historical study forms the indispensable background for all other areas of knowledge in the humanities, the social studies, and the sciences. a balanced curriculum of American and global history is provided in which students are encouraged to develop a broad knowledge of the human past as well as an in-depth knowledge of areas and topics of special interest to them. The Curriculum has a significant multi-cultural and global component. we also offer a bachelor degree in museum studies that emphasizes practical experience in museum work in addition to course work. Graduates with a bachelor's degree in history generally enter teaching or affiliated academic professions. they also go into law, government services, or medicine, or occupy various positions in the business world and are qualified to do graduate study in history. The geography program provides students with a well rounded global curriculum. those electing a liberal arts major in geography are generally preparing for careers in teaching, government services, and positions in the business community which is moving rapidly toward participation in the global market place. Majors with a bachelor's degree in geography are also qualified to do graduate study in geography.
