Instruction in Esperanto I offer instruction in Esperanto, the international language ... one that: (1) is easy to learn; (2) is politically neutral; (3) enables one to exchange ideas with Esperanto speakers of other cultures; and (4) makes learning of other languages easier. The beginners' course of instruction ... which will allow one to become reasonably fluent in the language ... consists of ten (10) one and one-half (1 1/2 ) hour periods, held on a once-per-week basis. The next planned course will be held on ten (10) consecutive Thursday evenings from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm, beginning on 09 September 2004. Other courses may be added as needed. Classes will be held at the American-Canadian Genealogical Society (ACGS) at 4 Elm St (corner of W Baker St), Manchester, New Hampshire. Course participation is limited to 20 participants. There is no tuition charge for the course; however, a freewill donation to the ACGS in any amount for allowing us the use of their facilities would be appreciated. Texts and tapes are optional, as handouts will be provided. Should one desire to purchase these items, the text, tape, and dictionary prices are $6.00, $9.00, and $5.80 respectively and may be ordered on the evening of the first class.

En la unua chapitro ¡®Introduction¡¯, menciante ke Zamenhof ne nur kreas la kadron de lingvo, ankau liveras al mondo la diversajn tradukajhojn kaj originlajn literaturajhojn, la autoro argumentas utile ¡°Zamenhof wishes to set an example to the adherents of his new langauge by devoting his entire adult life to demonstrating that his innovative linguistic project was functional, practical, and accessible to anyone who might elect to learn it and use it.¡±(p. 19). Kial? La autoro citas iun pri la temo, kaj esperas ke sekvaj chapitroj de lia libro ¡®will dsipel these incorrect assumption about Esperanto(p. 23). Tial chu

The book is very much like a somewhat long review article that might best have appeared in the Annual Review of Interlinguistics (if there were such a book). It's basically a well-documented quickie review of the language Esperanto and the Esperanto movement. Every page is chock full of references to the contents of a fourteen-page bibliography, most of it of relatively recent vintage. Even Harlow gets a mention.
Other planned languages get barely more than a passing mention, in the introduction; the three that are mentioned by name in the context of giving examples of
