    http://www.tesol-certification.com/esl-lesson-plan-with-an-object.htm
Writing a Lesson Based on Using an Object - by Susan Berry Start off with something concealed and ask the students to guess what it is. Give them questions that will help them to ask appropriate questions (i.e. What does it look like? and What can you do with it?) Make a mind map with each of these questions in the middle therefore collecting
adjectives and verbs they can use later to describe other objects. Optional: elicit from the students the parts of speech"adjectives" and "verbs") Once the students guess what it is and you reveal it, the students then break up into groups of four and receive other objects that you have concealed. (i.e. a pencil, an orange, etc) and two guess while two answer the questions posed. Once they guess, you ask them in a large group to share some of the adjectives and verbs that they used to describe these
objects adding them with markers to the mind maps as they do.

12 Steps to Clearer Instructions - by Jaimie Scanlon Making instructions clear for language learners can be a challenge. Unfortunately, there is no magic formula for giving instructions that works for all students in all situations. However, a variety of strategies applied in combination will help teachers reach a wider range of students and will serve to clarify and reinforce instructions for students as well. Here are a few practical ideas I hope will be helpful for both teachers and students. 1. When lesson planning, consider how you will give instructions for tasks. For each activity or assignment, think to yourself "How can I convey this task clearly to the students?" I find it helpful to write down in my lesson plan what I will say and what materials and visuals I will use to help clarify instructions. 2. Plan enough time in your lesson to deliver instructions thoroughly and to check students' understanding. Do not deliver instructions hurriedly while the bell is ringing, students are grabbing books, and backpacks and leaving the room.
