Forth offers an elegant solution, although brute force traditional methods and more expensive hardware will accomplish something similar. You may have never heard of it, but it has a small core of serious users and supporters in fact, some of the smartest people in the computer business. There are strong environmental reasons for choosing DELTA products! Reflecting today's concerns about health and the environment, DELTA is made of high density polyethylene (HDPE) the same type of material used for beverage and food containers. Not only is it impermeable and durable, but non-toxic and non-polluting. That is just one reason why DELTA products are so much better than dampproofing with tar the most common method of protecting foundations against water. Some more facts: DELTA products do not off gas, corrode, decay or react with other materials. In contrast, standard damp proofing compounds use naphtha as a solvent base to allow application. Naphtha consists of mixtures of hydrocarbons such as coal tar, petroleum or natural gas. When the damp proofing material is applied, this volatile liquid vaporizes. Naphtha itself is highly flammable, poisonous and dangerous to inhale. The "tar" dampproofing compound that remains on the foundation is composed of crude petrochemical materials and can include toluene and xylene. The latter are relatively harmless when they are in a cured compound. However, sloppy application, or not allowing enough time for the product to dry can put these harmful chemicals into the soil where they may contaminate groundwater. A Warning....

Fabrik diagrams utilize bidirectional dataflow connections as a shorthand for multiple paths of flow. Built on object-oriented foundations, Fabrik components can compute arbitrary objects as outputs. Music and animation can be programmed in this way and the user interface can even be extended by generating graphical structures that depend on other data. An interactive type system guards against meaningless connections. As with simple dataflow, each Fabrik component can be compiled into an object with access methods corresponding to each of the possible paths of data propagation. Kits and Concrete Manipulation A kit is a set of primitive components, together with a framework for connecting the components to do new and interesting things. If objects built with the kit can in turn be used to augment the original set of components, then the range of application becomes very large, limited only by the capability of the primitive components and the manner of their interconnection. The kit approach has been around for a long time, manifest in the subroutine libraries of the last three decades. However, the ability to browse through, and experiment with the available components was extremely primitive, owing to the textual orientation of underlying computing environments during those early years.
