CSD Chair: -Now we must make a difference
Talks among over 80 government ministers have stressed the need to speed up efforts in delivering safe drinking water, basic sanitation and shelter for the poor. - For too many years we have had too little action. Now we must make a difference, CSD-Chair B¸rge Brende, said in his closing remarks to the UN Commission on Sustainable Development today. (30.04.04) Press Release
CSD12 Summary
(ENB, 03.05.04)
Reaching the targets on water and sanitation - difficult, but doable!
The water crisis is very much a governance crisis rather than a scarcity crisis. It is not water scarcity per se that defines whether a country and its citizens are short of water. Rather it is closely linked to wealth, writes B¸rge Brende, Chairman of CSD, and UNEP Executive Director, Klaus T¶pfer in this co-authored article. (30.04.04)
CSD-12 Chair Brende urges Governments to embark on a decade of implementation
Highlighting the need to speed up efforts in delivering safe drinking water, basic sanitation and shelter for the poor, Norwegian Minister of the Environment, B¸rge Brende, Chair of CSD-12, calls for a decade of implementation. UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan, encourages the Commission to keep a close eye on progress (28.04.04)

Introduction: Why is SOPEJ-Nepal established? The globe is shrinking because of uncontrolled and rapid growth of population despite the attempts made to check the overgrowth of population which has not only effected the human being but also endangered the life of animals causing lack of good stuff in the globe. This problem has mostly squeezed the developing countries like Nepal where the life is very difficult due to its topography. The destruction caused deforestation by natural climities like landslide, flood and draught here further worsened it which in turn has endangered the existing life and misbalanced ecological balance in the nature. The various pollution in water, air, and soil have resulted it to environmental pollution. The only cause to destroying forest alimenting natural heritage of the pressure of rapid population growth; thus the necessity of checking the rapid growth of population has arise today . Therefore

Acquisition of ISO 14001 certification at all domes-tic and principal overseas manufacturing plants also testifies to Isuzu's proactive stance toward environmental management. With its engineering division having also obtained ISO 14001 certification, Isuzu has a complete envi-ronmental management system in place.one which promotes the manufacture of environmentally sound products with a regularly updated internal auditing system.
Moreover, Isuzu believes that automakers shoulder a social responsibility to offer vehicles that clear exhaust emis-sion regulations not only by legally mandated deadlines, but as far in advance of those deadlines as possible. Isuzu took the lead by launching the
