Wildcat Graphics Drive the Kansas State University Solar Car Racing Team
All CATalyst images are courtesy of Kansas State University and the car was developed using 3Dlabs Wildcat graphics accelerators. The races yielded a stellar finish to two years of hands-on application of engineering principles taught in KSU classroom. When conceptualization of the new car began, the KSU Solar Car Racing Team set out to create an energy-efficient car with exceptional aerodynamics. Eighteen months of the two-year engineering cycle was spent designing the car, which made having a high-performance and reliable graphics card extremely important. Technology issues, such a system crash, software incompatibility, or overall slow response from the graphics subsystem in a workstation, can contribute days or even weeks to final delivery time for a project. Demonstrating exuberant prowess, the 3Dlabs Wildcat VP880 Pro graphics accelerator was one of several 3Dlabs graphics cards used to help keep the KSU Solar Car Racing Team on track to meet competition deadlines. CATalyst suspension model (above) and actual (right) CATalyst Chassis FEA Analysis Kansas State's team, formed in 1995, has designed, built and raced three solar cars over the past six years in an effort to increase the awareness and understanding of solar powered automobiles. Building on past successes, their race for acceptance of solar-powered vehicles will continue with a new car incorporating gallium arsenide solar cells, cell technology with more storage capacity, scheduled to debut just in time for the 2005 races.

Case Studies Overview
Customer Success Stories "Before TimeTrade, we had no way of knowing which stores were performing well and which stores required attention. Now, we're able to measure resource utilization and quickly adjust capacity as needed." "Our customers don't want to be put on hold when they call to make an appointment. Thanks to TimeTrade, our call volume has gone down dramatically as more and more of our customers schedule their own appointments on the Web." "Scheduling multiple exams for more than 3,000 students was a challenging task. We knew there had to be a better way. After looking at several Web-based scheduling solutions, we chose TimeTrade." "With TimeTrade, I no longer spend 15 hours every week juggling my appointment book. Now, I have time to build my practice and talk to my customers. It's fabulous." "More than 50% of our reservations now come in on the Web. TimeTrade has revolutionized our business and put us ahead of the competition!"
Distance Learning
A leading distance learning program uses TimeTrade to schedule proctored exams at its seven testing centers. Before TimeTrade, it took a full-time staff of scheduling coordinators to answer the phone and schedule approximately nine thousand exams each term. Since students began using TimeTrade to self-register for exams, call volume at the center has declined 85%, resulting in annual savings of approximately $100,000. Automotive Service
A large multi-site auto dealership uses TimeTrade to schedule oil changes, tune-ups, state inspections and other routine service appointments. The system has allowed the dealership to establish a new channel for communication with its customers and to show leadership versus its competitors.
