"Emergency Medicine is all about providing initial medical care to the sick and injured in as short a time as possible. Such acute care must be from the site and time of onset of the illness or injury, with the intention to save life and limb and reduce morbidity to the shortest duration possible.
The Society of Emergency Medicine has, as its primary objectives the following:
    • Promotion of the science and art of Emergency Medicine in Singapore
Promotion, study, research and engagement in discussions on all areas of emergency medical care.
Assistance in the training and establishment of guidelines in Emergency medical care.
Representation of the views of the members of the Society and to acquaint other bodies of such views, whenever necessary and appropriate.
Encouragement and assistance in the co-ordination of Emergency Medicine activities in Singapore.
All the activities require regular, reliable communication. This web page would be a very important medium for such communication. Your views and feedback on the contents of this web-page or on other aspects of Emergency Medical care would be dearly appreciated."

Established in 1985 at New York University Medical Center and Bellevue Hospital Center in New York City. Comprehensive education, training and resources to improve emergency services for children in the United States.
    http://www.cpem.org/
The Center for Pediatric Emergency Medicine (CPEM) is pleased to announce the release of Child Abuse and Neglect: A Prehospital Continuing Education and Teaching Resource . This CD-ROM, the latest addition to the existing literature available for the education of prehospital providers, is based on a national study of what EMTs and Paramedics know about child abuse and neglect. It is the result of years of research and collaboration on federal, state, and local levels. The resource is also on our web site for free download, by clicking here . We expect delivery of the enhanced disc (containing graphic pictures) from the duplicator in late May 2004. The CD-ROM will be available for purchase from CPEM for $10.00. The Center for Pediatric Emergency Medicine (CPEM) was established in 1985 at New York University Medical Center and Bellevue Hospital Center in New York City. Our goal is to improve emergency medical services for children in the United States through education, research, and systems development. We are very grateful for the funding provided by the US Department of Health and Human Services through its Maternal and Child Health Bureau, EMSC Program, in partnership with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. With their support, we are making great strides in helping others save the lives of children.
