Taba Egypt is probably the world's oldest civilization having emerged from the Nile Valley around 3,100 years ago, historically. Egypt is probably one of the oldest vacation spots. Early Greeks, Romans and others went there just for fun, and to see the wonders of some of mankind's earliest triumphs. But Egypt is much more than Pyramids and monuments. It is also Red Sea scuba diving, hot night spots, luxury hotels and five star restaurants. It is romantic cruises down the Nile on festive river boats, a night at the grand opera and it is a cultural experience like none you have ever experienced. Egypt is a land bustling with life, sound, visual beauty and excitement. More than anything else, we want you to think of Egypt as fun. For thousands of years, it has been the playground of emperors and kings, and we hope you will take the time to find out why.

DID YOU KNOW ? The Rosetta stone is a stone tablet which contained the same passage of text in three different languages hieroglyphic, demotic Egyptian, and Greek. In 1799, a Frenchman named Jean Francois Champollion, who knew Greek, was able to match the Greek translation to the other two languages, and thus crack the code. You might find it interesting to know that The Rosetta Stone , one of the most precious antiquities from ancient Egypt, has also given insights into ancient Egyptian culture, the magical properties of hieroglyphs, and their relationship to Egyptian art. Part I
The Mighty Ones perform their great works, and leave behind them everlasting monuments to commemorate their visit, every time they penetrate within our mayavic veil (atmosphere) . . . H. P. Blavatsky, The Secret Doctrine Many are attracted to the mysterious old buildings of Egypt: millions have visited them, television programs focus on them, and numerous books are published on this subject. Perhaps the interest is caused by something lacking in our life today. Modern society is characterized by a high degree of technological and material development, but spiritually it is barely in its infancy. People who long to balance this one-sided knowledge about matter with knowledge about spirit may intuitively feel that the civilization of ancient Egypt, with its monuments that speak to the imagination, points the way to hidden truths of life. On the Giza plateau hundreds of tourists gaze in amazement at the gigantic structures. How and why were they built, when and by whom? The dominant scientific theory remains that the Egyptian pyramids were built to serve as tombs. Yet in the approximately 110 Egyptian pyramids discovered, not one mummy of the supposed builders* has been found, and the same applies to the 180 pyramids of Sudan, built with bricks by another culture at a later time. Though these are not as large as the Egyptian pyramids, still they are impressive. While Egyptologists maintain that mummies in the pyramids were looted, "unlooted" pyramids contained no mummies either. Moreover, in the Valley of the Kings near Luxor, where all the graves had been ransacked except that of Tutankhamon, in many cases a mummy (sometimes shattered) and various related objects were found.

The Pyramids of Sudan
by Simon H. I just noticed something and had something of an epiphany. The pyramids represented on the US bills are not the pyramids of GIZA as everyone seems to discuss and assume.
They are in fact the pyramids of Kush, in what is now Sudan. These were built from around 500BC, by the Nubians who eventually became pharos of Upper and Lower Egypt.
They had been ruled by Egypt proper a thousand years or 2 before hand, but after that had stopped, they maintained many of the ancient ways, and so reintroduced forgotten arts and styles back once they ruled Egypt. They are in a totally different style to the original Pyramids of Saqqara or Giza.
For one thing, they were built after the Pharo's death by his successor. Most importantly here though, these pyramids reflect the same style as the ones on the dollar bills; steep sided, were usually, although not always, built purposefully without a cap stone of any kind, and with ridges running up each side/edge. Maybe there is more to this.
Here are a couple of photos I found after initially writing this message to highlight what I mean. Brainwaves are wonderful things aren't they!

A NCIENT EGYPT
by Joanne O'Brien, ICOREC The Red Crown
The civilization of Ancient Egypt flourished for more than 3,000 years. In the pre-dynastic period Egypt was divided into the kingdoms of Upper and Lower Egypt, the King of Upper Egypt wore the white crown and the King of Lower Egypt wore the red crown. After years of bitter struggle between the kings of the north and the south, the north was finally defeated, Egypt was united under the Southerner, Menes, and the first dynasty was founded around 3100 BCE. The memory of a pre-dynastic Egypt lived on in the pharaohs' title King of Upper and Lower Egypt. The most important periods of Egyptian history are divided into thirty two dynasties which extend from the beginning of the literate period, under the rule of Menes, until Egypt became a Roman province around 30 BCE. The successive pharaohs of Egypt were divided into these dynasties. Throughout her history Egypt passed through periods of turbulent political upheaval and times of peace, power and prosperity. The most stable and productive periods of Egyptian history are marked by the Old, Middle and New Kingdoms. At the end of the New Kingdom Egypt suffered a series of foreign invasions and rulers and the great periods of Egyptian civilization went into decline. Is the Temple of Horus at Edfu, Egypt a CPU?
The following info. was mirrored from : http://www.geocities.com/Hollywood/2900/edfu-cpu.html IS THE TEMPLE OF HORUS AT EDFU, EGYPT A CPU? Back on March 2nd of 1999, Richard Hoagland made an appearance on aFOX special called "Opening the Lost Tombs". The program showed different opinions regarding the ancient mysteries of Egypt. Mainstream Egyptologists and thinkers like Zahi Hawass maintain that the ancient Egyptians built all of the monuments like the Sphinx and Pyramids and steadfastly maintains that any other theory is ridiculous.
Alternative researchers like Hoagland suggested that the monuments of Egypt were built by a previous high-tech civilization. One piece of evidence put forth on the FOX special showed a glyph at a temple in Abydos, Egypt. The particular glyph had several bizzare, high-tech looking objects; One of the most striking features on this glyph was a character that resembled a helicopter. This glyph was found in a Temple that was orginally built by Seti the 1st in Abydos which was a cult center dedicated to the worship of Osiris. Was this the only evidence in Egypt regarding the residual memory of a pre-history, high-tech civilization? It was until a discovery made by Daniel Perez, who maintains this website. (http://www.geocities.com/Hollywood/2900/edfu-cpu.html) (?I assume?) During the course of surfing the internet for information to create a webpage on a completely different subject, Perez came across a website showing the Temple of Horus in Edfu, Egypt. This temple was built for the worship of Horus, the son of Osiris who avenged his father's death.

All of the Kings and Queens of Africa have been invited to attend a convocation
in Benin, West Africa August 2002. Dr. Freeman will be a keynote speaker at this conference. For almost 15 centuries, people, fascinated, gazed upon Egyptian hieroglyphics without comprehending their meaning. In 1799, LT Pierre Bouchard discovered the Rosetta Stone (below) while building Fort Julian (see to leftnow Fort Rashid) on the west bank of the Nile during Napoleon's Egyptian campaign. the proclamation carved on it, praising Ptolemy V in 196 B.C., is of relatively little significance; what is important is that the inscription appears in three texts: Hieroglyphics, Egyptian Demotic Script and Greek. Jean Francois Champollion (below) was a brilliant linguist who worked from an 1808 copy of the Rosetta Stone's inscription. He labored on it for 14 years without ever seeing the stone itself. In 1822, Champollion finally decided that "Ptolemy" might be read phonetically patiently reconstructing the name, sound by sound from the Greek and Coptic. Twenty-three years passed before the Rosetta Stone finally surrendered its secret which began with the deciphering of "Ptolemy's" name. (Click on the Stone below for more information.)
