Industries Global Recovery At Risk Global Economic Outlook for 2004 There are positive signs in the global economy today. In the US, Japan, and Western Europe, economies are rebounding after a period of stagnation or worse. Moreover, it is all happening in the context of nearly invisible inflation. This should be cause for celebration. Yet despite the good news, worries abound. There is serious concern about the sustainability of recovery. That is because of imbalances in the global economy that threaten to unleash vast changes in asset prices, thereby upsetting financial markets and constraining governments. Moreover, the emergence of China and India as global economic powers, itself a cause for celebration, has instead created fears and the potential for a backlash against the positive aspects of globalization. Thus, the global economy remains at risk. Read the full report, available in the PDF attachment below.

Global Economics
Course title:
Bachelor of Arts (Hons) Global Economics
The Global Economics degree offers a study of economics with a special focus on the spread of capitalism and the acceptance of neo liberal economic strategies by ever more governments, the growth in trade flows and the rising disparity between rich and poor nations and regions, which are all a part of the process of globalisation. Technological change, integrated systems of information and communication technology, and the expansion of the transnational corporation are amongst the main drivers for this process and are central to the field, which takes a less technical and more policy-orientated approach to analysis.
