evaluating the geologic potential of prospects, plays and basins. Our economic
analyses are employed in determining project profitability, optimizing
exploration and production portfolios and for long-term regional hydrocarbon
supply forecasts. In our geologic and economic studies, we take a probabilistic
approach, reporting collateral uncertainty and risk information associated with
our estimates. We develop GIS systems for clients to assist in the management
and analysis of upstream oil and gas data and for decision support.

2005 iHEA Conference: Instructions for Submission of Session Proposals and Individual Abstracts
iHEA has two types of peer-reviewed scientific sessions:
  • Individual Abstracts: Blinded Peer-Review. Individual abstracts are blind-reviewed (with author and organizational information hidden) by three members of the Scientific Committee. Multiple presenters for a single abstract are not accepted.
  • All submission for both Organized Session and Individual Abstracts will take place on-line through the iHEA web site. Disclosure of funding sources and potential conflicts of interest are required for all submissions. If you expect to have any issues or problems with your submission, please contact iHEA (in advance, if possible). We have increased the maximum length of abstracts to 500 words. Abstracts in excess of 500 words will not be accepted by the new online abstract submission system. The system will also not accept formulas, tables or graphics. Organized Session Proposals are to be submitted from July 1 – September 15, 2004. Submitters will receive notification of accept/reject status by October 15, 2004.

Those of us who seek to intervene in policy debates in favor of economic justice and environmentally sustainability are regularly assured by the world's power brokers that they are fully committed to these goals so long as economic growth and the expansion of free trade are not compromised by governmental restraints on the market. So sacred have growth and free trade become in our modern culture that only rarely do we find the courage to ask why they should be given precedence over the needs of people and nature. Indeed, why should we consider accelerating growth and trade to be of any importance at all except to the extent that they serve people and nature? When the proponents of growth, market deregulation, and free trade tout their benefits, it is well to bear in mind what some of the most outspoken of these proponents really have in mind. Take this account from a recent issue of

    Welcome to the ACE Website:
    Agent-based computational economics (ACE)
is the computational study of economies modelled as dynamic systems of interacting agents with learning capabilities. ACE is thus a specialization to economics of the basic complex adaptive systems paradigm. Current ACE research divides roughly into three strands, differentiated by objective. One primary objective is empirical understanding : Why have particular macro regularities evolved and persisted, despite the absence of top-down planning and control? Examples of such regularities include trade networks, socially accepted monies, market protocols, business cycles, and the common adoption of technological innovations. ACE researchers seek causal explanations grounded in the repeated interactions of micro agents operating in realistically rendered worlds. In particlar, they ask whether particular types of observed macro regularities can be reliably generated from particular types of agent-based worlds. A second primary objective is normative understanding : the use of agent-based worlds as laboratories for the discovery of good economic designs. Given a design for a particular policy, institution, or process, whether existing or envisioned, what are the implications of this design for the performance of the economic system as a whole? The ACE approach is to construct an agent-based world that captures the salient aspects of the design, introduce a collection of self-interested economic agents with learning capabilities, and let the world evolve. The issue is the extent to which the economic design reliably produces efficient, fair, and orderly economic outcomes over times, despite attempts by agents to gain individual advantage through strategic behavior.

    Economic System
Each organization has to fight for its existence. But the competition between the different multinational companies is another than between the others. The company members have the complicated task to control a complex economic system, which is finally responsible for supplying mankind with products. The other organizations have to purchase these products from the companies. Therefor there are multiple so called market terminals in every city or colony, providing a market place to offer the products. Each of the 5 cities and each different colony is an own closed market place, offers i.e. in New York are not visible in Tokyo or Paris. So it´s possible to abuse a lack of products in specific market places for trading. The companies always have to try to offer their products equally shared in all cities. In the following chapters the 3 competences of company members shall be described:

    A WAR ON POVERTY?
    May 26, 1998
Chile's free market economic system has brought enormous wealth to many in the country. But will the country be able to close the gap between rich and poor and therefore maintain stability? Charles Krause reports. April 17,1998:
    Chile's
struggle to renew itself. Feb. 26,1997:
A look at Chile's newfound democracy and economic growth Browse the NewsHour's coverage of Latin America Spotlight on Chile The British House of Lords Pinochet Decision from Human Rights Watch CHARLES KRAUSE: For well over a decade, Chile's free market economic model has produced the equivalent of an economic miracle: 7 percent growth rates, low inflation, low unemployment, and growing exports. Wedged between the Andes and the Pacific Ocean, Chile is far from its principal markets. Yet, foreign investment is pouring in, while Chile's fruit, wine and other high quality export products are being shipped, and sold, around the world. New buildings, new cars and new shopping centers provide ample evidence that, for the wealthy at least, Chile's new economic system is a resounding success. There's also evidence of a new middle class. Central planning and government-owned industries are out. Instead, it's privatization that's brought prosperity, and, as a result, virtually every developing country in the world, except North Korea and Cuba, has adopted at least some variation of Chile's free market economic model.

    http://www.huppi.com/kangaroo/L-envirocapitalism.htm
Myth: Capitalism is the most environmentally friendly economic system.
Fact: Non-industrial and regulated industrial systems are the most environmentally friendly.
    Summary
This statement is more false than conservatives realize; non-industrialized countries actually have the cleanest environments. But among industrialized societies, Europe and Japan are cleaner than the U.S., which is cleaner than the former Soviet Union. Translated into systems, this means that well-regulated capitalist economies are cleaner than less regulated capitalist economies, which are cleaner than completely unregulated dictatorships. These last are considered unregulated because the officials in charge of production (the Soviet planners) were also their own regulators. Of course, the Soviet planners did not regulate themselves in their drive to catch up to Western levels of productivity, any more than Western polluters regulate themselves. A correlation thus emerges: the greater the regulation, the less the pollution.
    Argument
The claim that capitalism is the most environmentally friendly economic system is false in more ways than one. The cleanest societies in the world are actually the non-industrial ones most of South America and Africa, for example. Where industry rises, pollution fills the air, water and land.
