The Space Elevator Reference
Fiction or reality? With recent advancements in technology many people now believe it is possible to build a space elevator. This site will serve as a reference tool for those interested in exchanging ideas on the scientific, engineering, economic and policy challenges inherent in constructing the solar systems first space elevator. Marc Boucher (SkyGazer), moderator. What is a Space Elevator? A space elevator is a physical connection from the surface of the Earth, or another planetary body such as Mars, to a geostationary Earth orbit (GEO - In the case of Earth) above the Earth at roughly 35,786 km in altitude. It is hoped that someday a space elevator would be utilized as a transportation and utility system for moving people, payloads, power, and gases between the surface of the Earth and space. It makes the physical connection from Earth to space in the same way a bridge connects two cities across a body of water. What is this page about?
That Web site presents the history theory (you could name the History Mechanics) developed by author in 1990-2002. It is the general schema that explains the strongest historical, and economical processes. You will not find here many facts from history. That page is devoted to present my work, so if you search for important information, you better click out.
But:
  • If you are interested in mechanisms that rules the history, and want to see some answers, why our history was as it was. If you are interested in scientific explanation of history If you want to learn tools that helps to predict events like South-Asia Crisis (1997) or fall of president Fujimori in Peru (2000).
This page will probably satisfy you.

Usury-Free Currencies - There Is No Conspiracy!
Tommy-Usury: Free is an activist for a different economy, one not based on usury, one where we can live without automatically falling into debt to the money-issuing institutions. Like all activists, he is someone like you and me, with all the personal problems that come with following a calling to bring about change or to help your fellows. We like to think that our trouble are not our own doing, that there might be some kind of concerted action to keep things like they are. Tommy says that he "... noted that the greatest conspiracy is there is NO conspiracy." He then goes on to say that "[w]hat is needed now are countless thousands of thinking men and women who are willing to study the research, investigate the facts and draw their own logical conclusions."

DIE OFF
"If a path to the better there be, it begins with a full look at the worst."
Thomas Hardy Petroleum geologists have known for 50 years that global oil production would "peak" and begin its inevitable decline within a decade of the year 2000. Moreover, no renewable energy systems have the potential to generate more than a fraction of the power now being generated by fossil fuels. In short, the transition to declining energy availability signals a transition in civilization as we know it. Read the entire synopsis now! [Third Orbit's Fuel Cell Activities]

THE MICRO-CHIP OF THE ENERGY INDUSTRY
Fuel cells are “new” devices used to produce electrical power. After 160 years of development, they are becoming commercially available and are beginning to receive a large amount of public attention. This web site will provide a brief introduction into fuel cells, and describe what they are, what they can do, why they're important, what their commercial implications are, and what Third Orbit Power Systems is doing with fuel cells.
What is a fuel cell? Because fuel cells produce power without combustion, they are considerably more efficient than their internal combustion engine counterparts. Gasoline engines in automobiles are approximately 13 to 25 percent efficient. Amazingly, 75 to 87 percent of the gasoline you purchase does not participate in moving your automobile. A fuel cell attached to an electric motor can be in excess of 40 percent efficient, and fuel cells that can be used in automobiles and other vehicles are being produced with efficiencies of 45 to 58 percent. What can fuel cells do?

Research Interests
Most of my work has been in the subfield of economic anthropology. I have conducted fieldwork on household economics, agricultural decision-making, craft production, and work organization in Belize, Peru, Mexico, and various parts of the U.S. Other topical interests include agricultural systems, artisans, ethnicity, development, transnationalism, research methods (especially statistics), and the history of anthropology.
In spring 2003 the University of Texas Press published my book about the flourishing trade in painted wood carvings from the Mexican state of Oaxaca. These brightly-painted, whimisical pieces are novel creations without longstanding cultural significance. Many rural households have prospered by selling carvings to wholesalers and store owners from the United States. Men and women who once eked out a living through farming and wage labor are now able to build concrete houses and purchase automobiles, satellite dishes, and CD players. Some carvers make regular trips to the U.S. to demonstrate their crafts in museums, shops, and schools.
