Economic globalization, continued growth in the aged population, and information-orientation have been expanding rapidly as the main socioeconomic dimensions in modern society. Students are required to have a global knowledge and a cosmopolitan approach to take an active part in these major areas of international society. In particular, they need to acquire the ability to judge things fairly and find the right solutions to various problems emerging from international activities. On the other hand, it is emphasized more than ever that students should grasp the social phenomena of local areas. In this regard, students have to analyse these local problems scientifically and comprehensively to measure and deal with the local problems and carry them out to find out solutions. International Economics and Global Society Course and Comprehensive Policy Course have been incorporated in our curriculums to produce well-equipped students capable of coping with the social needs of modern society.
International Economics and Global Society Course
Students studying in this course are required to acquire accurate knowledge on the structure and system of the modern economic society by learning major areas of economics based on Economic Theory, Economic History and Economic Analysis. Moreover, they undertake to learn methods to evaluate economical phenomena mathematically and statistically. Especially, the main goal of this course is to create capable people who can contribute to international and local societies with understanding of today's socioeconomic problems.

97. Ecofluid Systems Inc. - Biological Wastewater Treatment Systems
USBF incorporates all the advanced features of an extended aeration activated sludge process into one compact unit for highly efficient, economic and effective wastewater treatment with low operating and maintenance costs.
http://www.ecofluid.com

News Bulletins
ECOfluid Systems Inc. is a provider of advanced biological wastewater treatment technology - USBF™ The USBF process is a modification of the conventional activated sludge process that incorporates an anoxic selector zone and an upflow sludge blanket filtration clarifier all in one integrated bioreactor vessel. The treatment includes efficient reduction of BOD and TSS but also biological nutrient removal (BNR) by the processes of denitrification and "biological luxury uptake". The ensuing compact, modular system takes up less space and contains very few moving parts. The result is an efficient, highly affordable wastewater treatment plant with low maintenance and operating costs. USBF technology has no inherent capacity limits and is used in a wide range of applications. Plants serving the domestic and municipal sectors or treating industrial, food processing and agricultural wastewater are in successful operation worldwide. The high treatment efficiency of the advanced secondary USBF process opens the door to cost effective tertiary post-treatment. The process has been increasingly utilized in the design of tertiary effluent (Class A or Title 22) water reclamation plants. Site Design by

Island Systems' conviction is that we are entering a phase in environmental management needs where environmental rehabilitation and reconstruction, rather than simply conservation, have become necessary. Haiti, its challenges and its many opportunities and resources, underscore this new approach. Island Systems has therefore chosen to put a "Spotlight On Haiti" in the hopes that the information, analyses and project reviews will encourage endeavors to improve and sustainably manage the fragile ecosystems, not only in Haiti, but throughout the Caribbean.
