The Catholic Doors Ministry presents the easter Acts of Consecration. in your name for your honor, live out our easter mission To go forth and teach all peoples In the brilliant light of easter, teach us, too, that nothing is
To be prayed at the beginning of each prayer below: Leader: Let us commend ourselves and all people to the love and protection of the Mother of God. All: Holy Mother of God, Mary ever Virgin, intercede for us with the Lord our God. Leader: God who is mighty has done great things for us. All: And holy is God's name. Leader: Let us pray: Sunday Mary, On this, the Lord's Day, We celebrate with joy the fulfillment of the miracle God began in your womb. He became what we are So that we might become what he is. He is Risen, the first-fruits of those who have fallen asleep. He reigns as Lord and God forever. In your marveling at the great things the Mighty One worked in you, We find our own awe at being chosen sons (and daughters) of God, Of being empowered to become a nation of saints, Of being commissioned to bear Christ to the world. With you as our companion and model, May God bring this good work to completion And may our dedication to you of all that we have and are Bring us to share in your blessedness. Amen. Monday Mary, God has worked a great wonder: Jesus is risen! No longer are we caught in the cords of death, For he has loosened our bonds. No longer need we walk in fear, For he has become our strong hope. No longer are we alone and estranged, For he has called us friends. May your faith in the face of death - even death on the cross, May your hope - almost buried with him in the tomb, May your love - nearly staunched by the fear of his disciples, May your joy in the Resurrected Savior be ours this day, As we, in your name for your honor, live out our Easter mission To go forth and teach all peoples. Amen.

Easter Bunny whipped at church show; some families upset Wednesday, April 07, 2004 Associated Press A church trying to teach about the crucifixion of Jesus performed an Easter show with actors whipping the Easter bunny and breaking eggs, upsetting several parents and young children. People who attended Saturday’s performance at Glassport’s memorial stadium quoted performers as saying, “There is no Easter bunny,” and described the show as being a demonstration of how Jesus was crucified. Melissa Salzmann, who took her 4-year-old son J.T., said the program was inappropriate for young children. “He was crying and asking me why the bunny was being whipped,” Salzmann said. Patty Bickerton, the youth minister at Glassport Assembly of God, said the performance wasn’t meant to be offensive. Bickerton portrayed the Easter rabbit and said she tried to act with a tone of irreverence. “The program was for all ages, not just the kids. We wanted to convey that Easter is not just about the Easter Bunny, it is about Jesus Christ,” Bickerton said.

    The Story of the Resurrection
    from Matthew 28
In the end of the Sabbath, as it began to dawn toward t he first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulcher. And behold, there was a great earthquake; for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it. His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow; And for fear of him the keepers did shake, and became as dead men. And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not; for I know that ye seek Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; for he is risen, as he said. Come see the place where the Lord lay.
And go quickly, and tell his disciples
that he is risen from the dead; and, behold, he goeth before you into Galilee. There shall ye see him; lo, I have told you. And they departed quickly from
the sepulcher with fear and great joy

I think that we should change the name of Easter this year. Instead of wishing friends a "Happy Easter" try "Happy Resurrection Sunday". Have a Resurrection Sunday Celebration this year. Share your faith and the Word of God with others. Make your own personal "Family Tradition" for this Easter Season that focuses on the Resurrection of the Lord. Why would you celebrate the Resurrection instead of Easter?
A new day, new beginnings and new life. NEW is one of the key words for today. Consider giving out "lambs" instead of eggs and bunnies. Jesus was our perfect passover sacrifice to atone for our sins. 17. Easter
This is the simplicity of the easter Story, Christ came and defeated the Devil. Thisis not something that anyone can teach you to do with your power.
(The Biblical story of Easter is told in these chapters: Matthew chapters 26 - 28, Mark chapters 14- 16, Luke chapters 19 - 24, John chapters12 - 15) The Story of Easter is really the story of Jesus Christ. It's a story about God's great love for us, and His plan to deliver us from evil and sin. God looked at the people and realized that there was so much evil in their hearts that He had to do something to clean them up. People needed a real change in their lives. They needed a change in their hearts. And that is why Christ came, He came to fulfill God's plan to redeem us all from our sin. John 3: (Amplified Bible) For God so greatly loved and dearly prized the world that He [even] gave up His only-begotten (unique) Son, so that whosoever believes in (trusts, clings to, relies on) Him shall not perish - come to destruction, be lost - but have eternal (everlasting) life. For God did not send the Son into the world in order to judge - to reject, to condemn, to pass sentence on - the world; but that the world might find salvation and be made safe and sound through Him.
So we see here that the Father sent Jesus to Earth from heaven, to make a way for everyone to have eternal life. Jesus had to become a man to undo, or redeem us from the sin Adam and Eve released into the world.

I grew up in a Christian home and have been a believer since I was 9 yrs old.
A question on my birth club board brought this subject to mind. I only remember believing the big white bunny brought me a basket of candy when I was maybe 4 years old. Same thing goes for Santa, really. My mom tried to keep it up, but I guess it just never made sense to me. I do, however, always remember being taught the REAL reason for Easter was Jesus' resurrection. Now there is a real reason to celebrate!
I have a 3 month old, and I don't know that we want to teach our kids (we plan on at least 2 more, maybe 3) about the Easter Bunny (or Santa, etc.) At the same time, I don't want my kids really bursting another kids bubble, because I don't think it necessarily harmful. I have, of course, heard the argument of "if you lie to your kids about the Easter Bunny, Santa, etc. why would they believe you about Jesus?" That wasn't a problem for me, so I don't really like that argument. But then at least Santa is a story based on a historical person, right?

By Charles Stanley For too many children today, Easter is solely a time of painting pastel-colored eggs, searching for treasures on an Easter egg hunt, and digging through an Easter basket for chocolate bunnies While these festivities are an enjoyable way for the family to participate in something traditional, they can easily trivialize the Christian meaning of Easter.
One of the most important responsibilities Christian parents have is to teach their children about Jesus Christ. Yet countless children grow up knowing Christ only through what they learn from second-hand sources. The sketchy images these encounters with God imprint on their minds can range anywhere from a drill sergeant to . . . well, the Easter bunny. In order for children to digest the authentic Easter message, Christ’s sacrificial death on a cross, they must have a context in which to put the person of Jesus Christ. When the Gospel is glossed over by lighthearted scenarios that don’t mirror real life, children can be led into thinking Christianity amounts only to an untainted notion of perfectionism. The real story–a story about tarnished and degenerate souls who were saved by Christ’s unconditional love, redeemed by the miracle of His death, and blessed with a living hope for all eternity–is as relevant to children today as it always has been. The story never changes, but, in a modern context, the way we tell it does. You can provide that context for your children by simply talking about Jesus on a regular basis, by living the principles of your faith, and by praying with your children.
