This Ring is dedicated to uniting resources in Creative Drama and Youth Theatre on the World Wide Web. This ring was founded because of the dearth of CDYT resources available using conventional search engines. A frequently asked question among teachers wanting to use drama in the classroom is "Where do I find material?" Member sites provide resources for use in Creative Drama and Youth Theatre (as the name of the ring implies) or have information about how to use drama in a classroom setting. Youth Theatre Companies with resource materials about their productions are also welcome to join the Ring. As always, it falls to those of us in the field who care about drama and drama education to create our own solutions. Please use these sites and please let us know how things are going.

Introduction
Many English language teachers have a background of English and American literature as well as TESL/TEFL and linguistics. In addition, many English language textbooks are related to literature, so it is useful even for English language teachers who are not specialists to have some knowledge of English and American literature. However, many teachers with a background in TESL/TEFL, linguistics, or communication rather than literature have not necessarily studied literature, and they sometimes have problems teaching literary works in the textbooks. We have compiled this web page, "Literature" (http://www.ling.lancs.ac.uk/staff/visitors/kenji/literatu.htm) for teachers who do not have much background in literature and would like to learn more and for those interested in literature for their own pleasure. Though this page is not necessarily intended for specialists in literature, specialists should also be able to find recources of interest.

    Usenet Newsgroup for Historical Fiction
One year in the Internet's history is like an eternity. It was summer 1994 that I began searching and making inquiries about a discussion list or a newsgroup for historical fiction. There was the old stand-by, rec.arts.books newsgroup, but it covered all possible topics. There were no Web sites/pages or mailing lists dedicated to historical novels. So in the winter of 1994, I became the proponent for a USENET newsgroup on historical fiction so that people of similar interest could have an online forum to exchange ideas, info and reviews. The RFD for rec.arts.books.hist-fiction was made in late March, 1995, and after a heated discussion for three weeks, the rec.arts.books.hist-fiction newsgroup passed the vote and was officially launched in April, 1995. Thesedays, with the fully-grown Internet, r.a.b.hist-fiction is only one of many venues we fans of historical fiction can rely on. That's good news and bad news. Readers, writers, and publishers have to do a lot of surfing to find and access the right information or the right audience. But sites like Historical Novel Society are doing an excellent job in providing a focal point in our effort. Likewise, my primary goal in maintaining this site remains the same: providing a central forum and information site for all historical fiction readers, authors and publishers, as neutrally as possible.

  • What is Multimedia?
Multimedia has many definitions depending upon whom you ask. A standard definition follows: Multimedia is any combination of text, graphic art, sound, animation, and video delivered to you by computer or other electronic means. ( Multimedia: Making it Work , Tay Vaughan, Osborne, McGraw-Hill, Berkeley, CA 1994 Multimedia can help to gain and hold attention, make points clearer, stimulate discussion, and in general, enhance the learning process, if it also includes the appropriate human elements. Multimedia is not meant to replace instructors, nor can it replace them Despite all the hype about the "new multimedia revolution", multimedia is not new. It has been used in the classroom for the last several decades in the form of overhead projectors, slide shows, filmstrips, and colored chalk. With the advent of the computer and other electronic devices, multimedia is now being used a number of ways in the classroom including PowerPoint lectures, digital slides, digital videos, case studies, newsgroups, mailing lists, MOOS, MUDS and more. Learning materials can be designed for interactive use by individual students, groups of students, and even students in different geographic locations.

I thought this might be a good festival - but I looked in vain for
something which is remotely connected with my disability. I was
really disappointed to see it was missing.
It seems to me that invisible disabilities don't count in our

And later to be on crutches. And everyone wanted to help me.
Could they carry something for me? Could they open a door? What
else can we do for you! I lapped it up! Visibly disabled and the
world rushes up to help you. Invisibly physically disabled - and abuse for parking in disabled parking bays (with a sticker in view), made to stand in queues and suffer the indignity of ending up on the floor or sitting in gutters! And debilitating exhaustion which lasts for
