Dolphins drown in nets that are set to catch yellowfin tuna, which tend to swim beneath dolphin herds. After 20 years of intense debate among environmentalists, the tuna industry, and policymakers, this fatal by-product of tuna fishing remains a high-profile public issue.

Welcome to ¡SPLASH! a fanlisting for the cute and intelligent animal, dolphins.
What is a fanlisting?
I didn't think I needed to explain this but I've had some people email me who obvious don't know. This isn't a fanCLUB. When you join, you DON'T get on some mailing list and I DON'T send you anything. All this is is a listing of fans of a certain topic. In this case, Dolphins. If you're a fan of them, just use the join page, fill it out, and I'll add you. Then your name is listed and that's about it. It's simple and pretty boring but that's all a fanlisting really is. But don't go emailing me asking me to add you because I'll simply delete it from now on. YOU USE THE JOIN FORM.

Elsberry I have listed below most species of cetaceans. Links will follow under each species. The listing follows taxonomic lines, rather than alphabetized common names or something similar. If you know a common name, but not a scientific name, try using your browser's search function for the common name. The taxonomy comes from both Peter Evans' "Biology of Whales and Dolphins" and Leatherwood and Reeves' "Handbook of Whales and Dolphins". There are a few discrepancies between the two. I hope I haven't confused the state of taxonomy too badly here. Jump to Other Links pages

Dolphins Plus is an education and dolphin research facility located in sunny Key Largo, Florida. Dolphins Plus houses 11 Atlantic Bottlenose Dolphins and 2 California Sea Lions. Our focus is to educate the public about dolphins and their environment, and to give our guests the opportunity to swim with dolphins in a natural setting. Our dolphin swim programs give swimmers the opportunity to interact with our dolphins in a way other "dolphin encounter programs" do not, “up close and personal.” Dolphins Plus is also at the forefront of dolphin assisted therapy, run by Island Dolphin Care, and an active member of the Southeast Marine Mammal Stranding Network. Dolphins Plus heads the Marine Mammal Conservancy of the Upper Keys. This organization works to rescue, rehabilitate and release injured or stranded marine mammals here in the Florida Keys. It consists of a network of volunteers and relies solely on donations for funding. For more information

Sex Guide Dolphins: FAQ on Mating by Anonymous
Dolphins: FAQ on Mating
Heyo!
Firstly, introductions all round. My name is [removed to protect dolphinlovers], musician, pre-vet student and Delphinic Zoophile. People are often wondering just what the hell zoophilia is. Zoophilia is best described as a love of animals so intimate that the person (and the animal) involved have no objections to expressing their affection for each other in the sexual fashion. This is not to be confused with bestiality, where a person forcefully mates an animal, without their consent, and with no mutual feelings whatsoever. This is something that I would never do to a dolphin, since I love them dearly, and treat them with the same respect that an honest husband would have for his wife and children.
Dolphins are very intelligent, highly emotional and expressive creatures. They enjoy the company of humans, and if a relationship develops between a human and a dolphin, as has happened with me, they will, on occasion, wish to express their trust and affection for you in the most direct way; through mating, or sex-play. You see, dolphins do not use sex purely for procreative reasons. They use it as a way of strengthening the bonds between pod mates (mothers and calves included), and also for fun. Dolphins and humans share this common trait with very few other animals, so sometimes it makes me wonder when people continue to ask me "How DO you mate with a dolphin?". Easy. Let the dolphin tell you!
Well, here is a selection of questions people have asked me, so I hope this sheds some light on the subject...
